I ordered this off of Amazon but it doesn't look like the product I placed an order for. Is this the Nexxus Emergencee you all use?

No. My emergence is in a little ivory colored bottle and it says emergence on it. This looks like a knockoff version.

It is called Nexxus Polymedic Emergency Reconstructor. It's not a knock-off; Google it and you'll find reviews.

Have you ever used this version? I just need a good protein treatment because the ORS Restructuring treatment doesn't seem to be enough

That's different than emergencee then. I guess Nexxus has two reconstructors out then. Maybe they are discontinuing emergencee and putting out this new stuff?!??

It's what I use and it works great for my hair. I only use it once a month. When I first bought it, I used it every other week. Too much protein.

I'm not sure. I think it's just different. Maybe stronger? Maybe professional strength? Not sure, but it works well when you need a heavy duty reconstructor.

Its just in a different bottle, but yes thats it. Emergencee is one of my must haves as a hot girl

This is a separate product. I think nexxus still makes both

My cousin swears by it. When i was complaing abt breakage she 'just happnd to have some' in her car LoL. She went to the car and showd me this exact bottle. She had to use it weekly at first to stop the breakage then as needed for maintenance

This is a good reconstructor. Lasts longer than the Emergencee for a better price too.

After searching online, the bottle in the OP is supposedly the "professional" formula; the small, ivory colored bottle often found in stores and most BSS is the "unprofessional"? formula. I think they're supposed to work similarly though.

After reading this I might use this today. My hair has been breaking really bad for over a year and after trying a ton of other (cheaper) reconstructers I finally decided to try this. Hope it does cuz I'm sick of seeing hair in my hands!

For those of you who use it, do you follow the instructions exactly?

@sheanu

I don't. (follow directions).

I use it under the dryer (no plastic cap) until hard. About 15-20 minutes,.

Rinse thoroughly and then follow up with a Moisturizing DC'er.

When I used to use it, I would keep it on under heat for about 20-40 minutes. Then follow up with a moisture DC for however long I have the protein in for.

Anyone shampoos it out as it says on the back or do you guys just rinse it and move on to the moisturizing DC step?

I use mine in several ways: as per the instructions; mixed with water when twisting my hair with my oils; and with water and glycerin in a spray bottle as needed. It seems to have helped strengthen my hair. I like it. It seems to be the same formula in different packaging. I had a hard time finding it last year until I just asked the clerk at a beauty supply place.

This weekend I washed my hair with the Malibu Hard Water shampoo then applied the hard water treatment, used Shea Moisture yucca shampoo to wash that out, applied Nexxus Emergency, used the Shea Moisture shampoo again and followed with a moisturizing shampoo. For the first time in over two years I have no breakage!! Thanks so much ladies for answering my questions and for the advice.

Edited to fix all the auto-correct typos (-_-)

sheanu, I'm glad you liked it! I've been using Nexxus for a long time. I started using Emergencee in the 90's. They changed the formula at some point and so, unlike the old formulation, this new one doesn't get hard. I'm sure there are other differences. I've been using the one you got for a few years.
