Is this dumb to do?

to lube up my hair with coconut oil tonight (not quite as much as w/ a pre-poo) in order to 'protect' it somewhat for dying it tomorrow......

is that dumb?

The oil will make it harder for the color to penetrate which might give you a more unpredictable result.
