Amla (also known as Indian gooseberry) is said to help premature graying. I've been graying since the age of 15. I've been using Amla for about a month now, I can't say that Amla has stopped the premature graying or not, the old strands are still there, but my hair is noticeably darker. HTH

Is there a way to slow down or stop grey hair from appearing?

Is there an Ayurveda remedy for it?

Essential oils of sage, rosemary, and basil are known to slowly darken hair. Adding them to coconut oil (which can penetrate the hair shaft, stop protein loss, and improve the overall health of the hair) and applying the mix to the scalp can help slow or even reverse greying. Remember that what you really want is to prevent future greys, so, focus on the scalp, not the grey hair you might already have. Be careful if you have high blood pressure, and regardless of your health status, do not be heavy-handed in using these essential oils, because all of these essential oils are strong stimulants.

For the grey you might have now, you can try successive rinses with black tea. The color of the tea will deposit over time (this is not a quick fix, but it is a natural, healthy approach) and darken your hair. You can try henna, indigo, and various natural dyes too. Amla, brahmi, and shikakai powder (you can make pastes with water or add them to oil) are also all known to darken the hair you have and help future hair retain its darkness. Neem oil (warning: the smell could wake and kill again the dead) can help darken hair too.

Either biotin or b-complex helps with that.... I think b-complex

Alma oil

OCT

Indigo

ETA: castor and Vatika oils are also said to darken hair

Bump up on b vitamins (most times a shortage of B vitamins results in greying hair) and try the ayurvedic powders. If it's premature greying it will help.

Interesting-thanks. I could understand darkening.. how do you suppose they are reversing the grey hair?
