heck no girl, its practically Christmas. It's time to be thinking about the future so we'll be prepared. For 2008, I plan on being a diyer, with the exception of relaxers. I'm tired of stylists ripping through my hair, being late, taking all day at the salon and sayin that I need a trim with every relaxer. I plan on washing every Saturday (no exceptions) alternating Aveda DR and Brilliant lines, DC on dry hair and oil rinsing with every wash (thanks to Sereca). I only plan to trim 2x's in 2008  and I wanna be waistlength by Christmas 2008.

hell no!

by 2008 i hope to be using nothing but 100% natural products

no shampoo nothing commercial

even though it'll be a long time before iween off humecto and relaxers!!!

Not at all! My 2008 goals are to be BSL by March and MBL by September.

I'd also like to officially become a DIY'er :yep:. I currently spend so many hours in the salon, I should be a certified stylist by now. :look:

ETA: My other goal is to step up...ok, ok:lachen:...to develop a vitamin regi!

I totally aggree! LOL!!!

I don't think it's too early. I've been thinking about 2008 goals for months now! :look:

By the summer of 2008, my goal is for my hair to be at hip length when stretched. And of course, to maintain healthy hair. :yep:

I'm hoping that i'll reach Midback by March 2008 and waist-length by end of summer. I'm counting on my products to get me there quickly.

I'm hoping to be full shouler length, maybe almost APL stretched.

Otherwise, I'm sticking to what I know - henna, protective styles, moisture, low manipulation, love.

I hope to be WSL by June and HBL by Christmas. Then I will maintain at HBL with a blunt cut or long layers (inspired by BlackBarbie).

My goal for 2008:

To keep on co-washing(daily)
Retain as much growth as possible
Using wigs/braids/LFs as protective styles
To go completly natural
To get rid of alot of products that i am not using
Stick with one growth aid to see consistency
Shampoo/Clarify once a month

nope I have already started thinking about mine. I wanted to make APL next year but i have to thicken my ends first, thats my goal right now. no use in having long thin hair. so APL will have to be pushed back to 09. Unless my hair suprises me:)

Using more and more natural or Ayurvedic products.

Hoping to be waist length if not end of summer by end of year stretched and I am not sure what length that will look like not stretched, because I swear my hair has a shrinkage factor of 99% so I just am not sure anymore about that goal.

Staying with the product routines I have. More henna, of course:yep:

Being an inspiration and/or mentor to others who want to go the natural route with hair texture similar to mine.

Also not taking on so many challenges this year. Staying committed to the ones I am in. Maintaining the status quo basically.

I'm going for mostly full 2" past BSL by Summer 2008
(I say mostly because I have a section of my hair in the back that is much shorter than the rest of my hair)
Becoming a DIYer - I WILL LEARN TO ROLLERSET MY OWN HAIR! - (Now if i say it 100 times it will propel me to start!)

Ummm no, when all you think about is hair you gotta think ahead:lachen:
I plan on being full apl by this time next year. I'm on the hard CG using braids and weaves and I am thinking about uping the ante from 6 months to a year.

I want to be BSL by April '08
Hopefully MBL by Fall '08 sometime
Master the diy touch up <---never get this right.
Only touch up 2 maybe 3 times in '08
Thicken up my ends in '08

Oh yeah...and to stick to what works for me and stop jumping on every bandwagon and buying up a bunch of stuff I only use once!

I hope to simplify my regimen down to what works! Also to stretch to 9 weeks I currently do 8 weeks, but feel like I can go one more at least, I would like to get to 10 weeks eventually. I want my hair to grow from top of shoulder in the back to APL by the end of '08, and the sides to be at least collarbone, the front of my hair to be chin length...most of all I want to grow and maintain healthy thick hair!

Great Thread!

I'm wanting to change my diet and develope a vitamin regimen for skin and hair health.

NO SHAMPOO except for my Henna/Indigo treatments.

Continue doing oiling and ACV rinses.

I'm hoping to be BSL stretched by the end of '08.

me too!

I'm doing good so far!

i think shampoo is just too harsh

not at all. I though I was BSL but I'm 2 iches shy since my trim so that is my first goal.

BSL March 2008
Midback August 2008
Waistlength March 2009!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these goals realistic guys

I want to be FULL APL by August 2008
I want to be done with the hand-in-hair disease
I want to have tried henna by Dec08
I will straighten my hair in June 2008...first time in 2 years!!!

I plan to:
  • try henna and indigo for thicker and darker hair.
  • stay consistent with my vitamin/exercise regimen
  • find a stylist to press and trim my hair in March 2008 and wear it out for the 1st time in years (aiming for MBL)
  • reach WL between Summer 08-December 08

Too early?! Nope! What do they say about people with no vision?...

Let's see:
Continue my lo mani regimen and what is working for me now but incorporate more vitamins (flaxseed oil, B-100 and HSN) and exercise to achieve
thick MBL by May 08
WL by end of September 08
Continue to enjoy the journey!

-APL by sometime in '08
-Take some vitamins, for corns sake!!
- Protective styles 90% of the time
-More conditioning/rinsing
-I reallllly need to exercise
-Gain 15 pounds
-SAVE MONEY! Stop buying so much hair stuff LOL

I'm sure I'll think of more stuff later.

- MBL by March & WSL by the end of Sept.
- have the simplest reggie possible.
- be brave & start self-relaxing.

No it's not too early; I have already started ordering our new year's eve party must have's... Now for my hair, I will be doing fotki hair growth updates in Jan.08. I should be at midback length by then. And I will be showing my hair technique for keeping natural 4A hair edges smooth and flat all the time.
