Is it possible to thicken your hair? If so what did you use? Got Pics of it?

I have been trying to decide what I would like more if I could wave a magic wand. Longer hair? or Thicker hair?

I decided thicker hair, because maybe if it was stronger it would then be able to retain length and grow longer.

So is there a product that can make my thin strands thicker?
thanks

Henna scares me I have read post of women who loved it and women who absolutely hated the results. My hair usually will picks the worse result when there is choice

Also I thought Henna was for coloring what else can I do with it?

I hear henna thickens your strands as it attaches its self to the hairstrand permantly.

I have never tried it so i don't have any pics. It's for colouring too because it's natural and that's part of what it does unless you add indigo....and thickening your hair just comes along with it. I think thats all you can do... People do mix a whole load of other stuff with it like amla oil and yoghurt but i don't know why? There's a huge thread somewhere. I think probably in one of the stickies.

Don't know if you could actually thicken your hair but there are products that claim to thicken hair....

I'm not sure if you're relaxed or natural, but texlaxing doesn't take so much from your hair and creates thicker hair.

Clarification: There is a difference between the overall thickness of someones hair (meaning it's dense and they have lot of strands) and the thickness of someone's individual strands.

That being said, I don't think you can increase the thickness of your individual strands. I think it's genetic. I also believe that your density is also genetically predetermined. That being said, I don't think most of us reach our maximum hair density because of breakage. I think if you can fix you breakage you can increase the density of your hair and the appearence of thickness.

If you have zero breakage then I don't know that there is much you can do.

Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear.

I don't have any pics (sorry), but I can tell you that for me castor oil has worked wonders. I have fine, thin strands and I use castor oil regularly and liberally on my scalp and on the length to seal and have seen a dramatic difference. I don't mix it with any other oils...some ladies do this b/c castor can be quite thick but i like the consistency of it:lick:

I've tried the jamaican black kind as well as the regular grocery/ drugstore brand and they both work for me. It is a staple for me. I aslo pour a generous amount in my poos to help soften hair during that stage of my regimen. When I run out and go back to sealing w/ jojoba or olive oil my strands start looking like they're on a starvation diet again:nono:

I totally agree with what she said.

I think we all want thick hair, unfortunately there are no products that are going to make the hair grow out of your scalp thicker or make the strands you already have thicker.

There are products that will help keep your hair healthy and from breaking and that coat your hair to make it appear thicker but there's really nothing you can do if you have naturally fine strands or if your hair is not really dense.
