Is it ok to flat iron hair that has grease on it?

I'm not sure if it would give you heat damage, but it sounds as if flat-ironing with grease would make your hair limp and greasy. Opt for a hair serum instead, something that'll leave your hair with movement.

I am getting the best results with no oil or grease at all and just serum and heat protectant.

Don't do it. We fry fish, chicken, and other meats with grease. I don't want you hair to become fried, literally!

Ok, ok. I don't want to flat iron it anyway. My mama is going to braid it, and she says that she has to flat iron it first. I don't think that's necessary, especially since I have so much grease in it.
