I have to kind of shy away from the hair boards when i put in sew-ins and styles that last long because it makes me want to take it out and play in my hair. :look: but then that would defeat the purpose of me doing it in the first place

Do you ladies feel like this when you put in styles that last months at a time??

YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSS!

I had to smack my hands away quite a few times because I just want to play in my hair.

I took a sew in down today and got a chance to play in it but now seeing that it has only gotten a little longer, I'm ready to weave it back up.

APL in May/June ain't happening....:(

I know how you feel . When I would have in my sew ins and read about people deep conditioning their hair , doing henna treatments , or trying some new product I would get the itch to take my hair down early . I just have to fight that urge and keep my sew in in as planned. : )

He!! Yeah, I love braids & weaves but I miss looking and playing with my hair especially washing my hair, It's not the same w/ braids & weave as my own hair. I usually get like this around sixth week but I always try to make it to eight weeks.

I know its so hard but its completely worth it when you smack yourself and let it stay in. Ediese inspired me to go back to my sew-ins and one other lady on this hair board. I don't remember her name but i do know here by her hair ..lol!

I'm like that. I vowed to keep my hair weaved/sewn in from January to June. I just got my hair rebraided a couple of weeks ago, and I'm itching to take it down. I think I'll take it out May first. I'll flatiron til June then relax. The stylist that did my hair didn't DC or give me a protein treatment. I miss doing those.

Yes omg!!!!!!b esp. Being a natural because I loveeee my hair texture & I like the spongy 4b coils and the 3c bouncy curls. I wanted to take my braids out after 4 months but now I'm hitting 3 + its my one year anniversary this week so I have to take them down! I thought I was the only one who disappeared when I got some type of weave/extensions in

I don't wear sew ins, but this is the case with my braids. My heart aches during long braiding stretches because all I want to do is play in my hair so very badly.

Aww I know what you mean. I still come on the boards but I do start missing my hair after a while. I just had my last install in for 8 weeks. Let my hair rest for 2 weeks and just got it reinstalled a week ago. But I know it's so worth it. I just made APL in Dec 09, and Jan-March of this year I had my sew in...when I took it out, I was grazing BSB! So that's a huge incentive to keep on PS with my sew in!

I just did my first crochet braids install 4 days ago (which came out GREAT by the way) but i still have soooo many new hair products I want to try that i am already missing my hair. This obsession is ridiculous. :ohwell:

I completely agree! I have this sew-in right now and its been in for about 6 weeks...I literally cannot wait until I can take it out and scrub my scalp. I'm trying to keep it in for another 6 weeks because I always see lots of growth after I take down my sew in's.

Inspirational story!

Yup, I go thru this as well!!!!

I try to stay out of the hair forum so I'm not so obsessed with hair care & new products. Instead, I stay updated on everything Bey, Kim & Nicki - related
(Good grief, what has my life come to :perplexed:spinning:)

My sew-ins also allow me to focus on a good vitamin reggie. As much as a want to take it down, I can be my own worst enemy! The wait is well worth it!

YESSSSS!!! I've had this sew in for about 4 weeks and I'm this close to taking it out and doing a deep deep condition! I'm inspired by soon2bsl to stick with it... *sigh*

Yes. Finally someone said it. I feel this every time I leave the salon after I get cornrows or twists. I'm always interested in another hairstyle or product.

heck yeah when i'm in braids or kinkys or whatever I tend to stay in the off topic section... lookin through this will make me wanna take em out and do stuff..lol
