Is it better to henna your hair back dark or dye it back dark?

Color it using either a semi or demi permanent color. Never color your hair darker by using a permanent color or henna. It's hell to lift if you ever want to go back lighter again.

I think the post above answers your question. Henna is red, not dark. You can use henna + indigo to go brown or black. This works for me coz I prefer the all natural approach. On the other hand I probably can't lift my hair color and that doesn't bother me. If I feel like a lighter color I'd just use extension hair.
