Is is normal to have hair color remain on your scalp after it's been done.

I had a semi-permanent color- wine put in today at the salon. At home I notice that some of it is on my scalp in several places, and I am very concerned. Should I wash it out again or is this typical when your hair is colored all over?

I had this problem and it went away eventually. Recently I used Bigen Permanent and it stained my skin a little. It rinsed away another wash, though.

So there's no reason to be alarmed, i guess? I was considering jumping into the shower and re-washing my hair to get some of the color off of my scalp. I am still tempted to do it as I don't want any side effects from this color.

No reason to be alarmed, as long as it's not irritating to your scalp. It will wash away in the next shampoo or two, but if it really bugs you, you might try wiping the area with a damp cotton ball, or Q-tip.

Yeah it's fine. I always do this. It will wash off eventually.
I like to get rid of it from my hairline, ears and parting asap though. I do this with cleanser/toner/coconut oil/surgical spirit on a cotton wool ball or cotton bud.

thanks for the feedback, everybody. but i do agree that a stylist should know how to avoid getting the color on your scalp. i thought i was doing better by getting semi-permanent this time as the last time i had gotten permanent hi-lights early this February. she used foil to put in my highlights the last time and none of it got on my scalp.
