Breaking out around their edges due to the use of butters on their hair??
I need a remedy!
My forehead has had really fine bumps on it all summer, but the butters work wonders on my hair!

I've made my own shea butter mix using:
sheabutter
coconut oil
jojoba oil
avacado oil
castor oil
sweet almond oil
and eucalyptus and lavender essential oils

My suggestion is to use a little less of the butter in your hair and wash your pillowcase more often. Or you could try putting a towel over your pillow. :yep:

Coconut oil has been known to cause acne. I had to stop using it on my edges all together.

I agree with greenandchic. Coconut oil can clog your pores. My hair loves it, but my face hates it. My forehead ended up breaking out. Try leaving the coconut oil out of your butter mix and see if that helps. Once I eliminated the coconut oil my face cleared up. But I have to admit I have been sneaking the coconut back in and sure enough I have a big ole pimple of my forehead! Lol

Maybe keep the butters toward the ends of your hair, not on the edges? And do you sleep with a scarf on? I have to do this or I break out, b/c otherwise I'm basically lying on a pillow full of shea butter all night. Lol, ew.

no... i always (after hair has been primped) take my damp face cloth and wipe around my face because i don't want to have any greasy/shiny residue on my face...
