Is 2 deep conditioners a week too much?

Just wondering the limits. I co-wash often but haven't ever tried deep conditioning twice in one week. The hair in the middle of my crown is SOO dry and unruly I have tried MANY things to combat the dryness all ending in failure. My hair just soaks up the mositurizer/oil/etc... like a "G" and keeps it moving :lachen:. The rest of my hair is fine, its just this one darn patch. The only thing that seems to make it act right is deep conditioning... what's a girl to do? :perplexed

I'm new at this so feel free not to take my advice, but if it were me I would try it for a while (a few weeks maybe?) to see how your hair reacts. If it reacts well keep doing it. If not you've caught it early and can nip the problem in the bud. And I wouldn't change anything else until I had finished that particular experiment.

Maybe I will try deep conditioning that one area 2x/week and see how that goes. I have to do something because this is NOT working out, well not for that area :nono:

i deep condition twice a week all the time.
one moisture,one light protein.
i shampoo wash twice a week, so need deep conditioning afterwards

Remember, some natural hair textures can be very dry, so you may need to double up on the moisture moreso than the protein. The way I used to do it is to run a deep conditioner in my hair after when I co-washed daily and let it sit until I was ready leave the shower. try it for a week and see how your hair reacts to it.

I DC twice a week and it's been nothing but GREAT for my hair. I've been doing it each week for almost 3 months now.

Thanks bravenewgirl, I will surely try that! :yep:

I am sure that it is probably a great thing for your hair, especially that problem area you have. I always pay special attention to areas like that. My crown used to be and my nape probably always will be. My crown used to be dry and unruly but much needed attention cured it and now it is thick and soft and just right. Keep it up and let us know how it goes. :yep:

I DC 2x a week. I have since I started my journey over a year ago. It's worked wonders for my hair. I co-wash on Wednesdays and Shampoo and conditioner wash on Sunday, DC both times.
