only? I want to duplicate the Dominican's process.

Also, what does an ion dryer do if anyone knows? If these questions have been answered, could someone bump the thread? Thanks.

I don't know what temp the dryer is set on, but my cousin's Dominican stylist uses a dryer that has a max of 2800 watts.

She said it feels like 28,000 on her scalp.

If you're getting it from any place like Sally's the watts are high, but the heat is just different. I went through about 6 different blow dryers before just buying the one I told you about.

Also, when I was going to by one with 1875 watts, the woman looked at me like I was deranged, but someone must use them...they make them.

It's not actually the wattage, that's what I thought. It may have to do with the actual construction. The dryer that I posted is only 1300 watts, but it's hot as heck...now, I can't imagine anything hotter on my head.

I don't think it's about the watts..it's all about the heat!! My favorite blowdryer is the Salano..they range in wattage..but the one I was using..till my son dropped it in the sink.. I think was 1800 Watts.. the one I had before had less wattage and it got hotter than a cheapie one that I had back in the day that had more watts~

my friend said the ion blowdryer made her hair fluffier and she didnt have to use a flatiron after blowdrying which she normally does

i have the Sharper Image ionic dryer. i love that thing! i can use it on low or medium and get it straighter than a regular dryer on high. my blow drying technique has also improved though. i now do it in 4 sections, rather than randomly like i used to. this makes a big difference.

My dryer is a Gold n Hot, with a wattage of 1875. I got it at Sally's a few years ago- it was free with a purchase of a gold n hot curling iron. I'm sure they still sell them.
I haven't used it for a couple months now, but I sectioned off my hair as well and let the hair fly until the wet/dry conversion point, then take a hard rubber brush and hold the sections taut and point the dryer down the shaft waving it side to side. MAde the hair dry smooth, so didn't have to use much heat on it later, after it was dry and fragile.

Should I ever have to put my Turbo 1500 to rest, I plan on trying the Solano. Which model do you have?

I tried that one, didn't get as hot to me, not even with the concentration nozzle.

To be honest..I don't remember..but it was all black..I've been spending all of my money on hair products instead of replacing that blowdryer like I should have..I've been using this cheapie one that I had since high school..and I'll be 34 on Satuday..lol..but I'm hoping my husband buys me one for my bday..I put it on my list..lol The Super Salono X is the one I want now.. http://www.beautycentury.com/mall/resultform.asp?SKU=3782&MS_SKU= this is the cheapest place that I have seen it..but it's out of stock..I'm almost positive this is the one I had before: http://www.beautycentury.com/mall/resultform.asp?SKU=2931&MS_SKU=

Hope that helps!

Thanks RG.

I'm not planning on buying a new one anytime soon, but if I do, I'm going to do a rollerset and go right into a store that sells the super solano and try it out. Then, I'll order one from the Internet
