This is the newest model by Ion. I actually have the old one (pink & silver) it does straighten very well. Mine is much bigger than this one.

I think Allandra has one also and I know it's one of her favorites.

Hope this helps you.

ETA: Remember if you don't like it, you can always return it to Sally's within 90 days.

I thought I'd just bump this up to post my review rather than start a new thread. I bought this from Sally a couple of weeks ago. I started off flat ironing on about 250. I also borrowed my friend's CHI to test it out. I didn't really want to use it because it didn't have temp. control. But after I did a couple of sections with the ION one, I decided to try a couple of sections with the CHI. I liked the CHI better because it straightened my ends better and made them silkier. I am natural, 4a, so my ends always try to hold on to the curl when I straighten. But, my hair didn't have much body (movement/swing). I just figured I used to much heat protectant. And by the time I left the house, my hair had already poofed from being in the hot bathroom.

So, I went to take the ION back to Sally, and when I told the lady I liked the CHI better, she was surprised. She said everyone that she sold it to like that one better than the CHI because it got hotter and it straightened better. There was an employee there who straightened her hair with it that day, and she said she hadn't found ANYTHING to straighten her curly hair, before using the ION. Then I remembered that I only used a heat setting of 250 with the ION, so I decided to keep it and try it again. So the next day, :spank: (I know don't kill me), I used the ION one again, on 400 I believe, and I LOVED it. My hair had movement and everything this time, and it stayed straight for about a week.

Part of me still wants to try the Sedu to see if that would be even better. With the money back guarantee on Folia and at Sally, I'm sure I will.
