Invitations And Wedding Stationary

I'm now looking into invitations and wedding stationary. What did you use for your wedding invites? I'm seeing a lot of online companies and I ordered a few samples. Aside from a few, I wasn't blown away with what I received. Also, did you coordinate your wedding programs and menus with your invites?

I ordered a template from Etsy for my menus. I ordered the invitations from David's Bridal. The invitation suite I wanted from Wedding Paper Divas was $600 and I just wasn't paying that for a piece of paper that people were going to throw away.

I didn't do programs.

@MizAvalon so David's Bridal made the invites based on your template? I looked at WPD and it definitely adds up when you factor in the response and the reply cards. I feel you about not wanting to pay 600 for paper...

Save your money and don't buy RSVP cards with the invitations. We did RSVP cards, envelopes and stamps. I think I received 30-40% of my RSVPs and ended up having to call most people to find out if they were coming or not - wasted money on paper, envelopes, and STAMPS. If you have a website, have people RSVP online and call those that don't. I did programs but DH's friend did the layout and printed them for us for a deal. I didn't do menus - but I didn't have menu choices so I didn't feel it really mattered.

I also used Vistaprint, and I was really happy with the way the invitations came out. I agree with @dr.j though, the RSVP cards were a waste of money, I think we only got a handful back.

See this is what I was thinking of doing but I wasn't sure if it was proper wedding etiquette.

My FMIL helped me create my invitations on her Cricut. Very elegant looking. Will edit post to include pic later. As for RSVP cards, it will be simple, either store bought or I will make my own on cardstock. No menus, it will be buffet style...

I am sitting here actually printing my invitations. I am DIYing boarding pass invites. It will have the the ticket jacket and the actual jacket. I refuse to spend too much on invitations.
