Info on texlaxing/texturizing?

I'm a little interested in texlaxing but I have a chemical phobia after an episode with "Just For Me
texture softener" that left me with little to no hair a few years back. I'm 4a almost SL. How many of you ladies are texlaxed, what's your new texture like, do you like it better than being natural, is it hard to manage, how's the upkeep, what's your straightening process like? I don't really know what to ask, just tell me what the experience is like. Also, could you post a picture?
