When you use indigo do you have to do a deep conditioner or is porosity control okay to use after I rinse it out? Just living it in for about 15 min, I just deep conditioned 5 days ago.

Hmmm, I've never tried PC after a henna (or indigo) treatment, but I'm guessing it's not moisturizing enough.

Okay I guess your right. I just indigo out of my hair and put some Aveda DR in it.
Thanks

Oh YES! If you have Aveda DR that's the way to go. I think Aveda is the reason I've never had a problem with dryness.

I know me too. A few weeks ago I was having a really bad problem with dryness but for the pasted few weeks DR has really helped. Now if I could just get a handle my my tangles and thin hair. But I'm on my way.

Sareca your hair is so beautiful I love the thickness and color. I can't wait for my hair to look like yours. I just jumped on the bandwagon of Henna so I hope to see results like your soon. I just did my second treatment last weekend. I had really bad knots that i had to cut out :( but my hair was soft.

Congats on the Great hair!!!!

Knots? Cut OUT! Ok, timeout. What happened?

Girl I was in tears I was gonna cut all my hair off.
I washed my hair, then put henna for an hour under the dryer, washed it out and keep my aveda DR in overnite. The only thing that I did differently was wash my hair before putting the henna in but it was not really tangled when I washed it out. Anyway I was rinsing the conditioner out of my hair, detangling and I had 2 huge matted tangled in the back of my hair. It was like someone tied my hair in 8 knots and pushed them together. I put condish in it, oils, whatever I could think of and whatever advice I got on LHCF. But it would not come out. I took out as much strands of hair as I could and I had to cut the knot out because it wouldn't come out. I don't know what happened. This has never happened to me before.

Wow, that's crazy. I've got 5 inches of new growth and 7 inches of texturized hair. They wrap around each other like they're playing twister. But my hair usually tangles when I'm trying to rinse the henna out. Yet another reason I prefer the triple sifted stuff. I use Aveda too, but I've never had a problem with matting. Although, I haven't used it overnight in a long time. Wow, I'm sorry that happened. What a nightmare. :(

Did your hair feel mushy? Maybe it was just over-conditioned and kinda mushed together. I've had Aveda to that more than once.

It does feel mushy but I had used Phyto I about 2 months ago and it jacked up my hair. Now my hair refuses to be straight even when I tried to a corrective relaxer. My hair hasn't been the been the same since. It became really dry but now since I've been putting DR in overnite my hair is much much softer then it used to. I want to give Henna a try for a month or so hopefully it will get stronger. Maybe I should try a protein treatment but I have found them really drying in the past.

Yeah, protein dries my hair too, but I can tell you from experience that henna won't fix mushy. I overconditioned my hair w/ Aveda a couple of months ago and it was ugly. I henna'd but that didn't fix it. It finally dawned on me that it was asking for protein I used Keraphix and that was the end of my problems. Actually I haven't had any issues with my hair since. I'm doing light protein treatment now, but that's only in prepartion for my relaxer. My hair only needs protein when I've overconditioned.

I'm so sorry you had an experience like that. Cutting a knot out?? Wow! I had two knots one time and I will not let it happen again. I was about 8 weeks post relaxer (so lots of new growth) and I had the nerve to wash my hair at the sink (which meant my hair being washed forward in the sink). When I started combing it backward for airdrying, it clowned me. I will never wash my hair the in the sink while stretching my relaxers ever again!!! Even when I henna this weekend I plan to wash it out in the shower. I ain't risking no more hair loss.

I will definitely try Keraphix because I do need some strenght to my strands. I let you know how it works out.
