thanks in advance..

Hi, yankgal007!

I picked up Jamila brand superior quality henna, Hesh Amla powder, Vatika coconut oil, and Dabur Amla oil; they also have Dabur Amla Lite oil, and an Amla Plus oil. I also bought some Nyle Herbal Shampoo, but I haven't heard much about it on the threads. HTH! :D

I purchase my oils; the Dabur Amla Lite and Vatika Oil. I do want to get some of their Jasmine Oil too! :) .

I know many people purchase their henna, amla and cassia there as well, but I only purchase mine online at Mehandi.com or HennaSooq.com. When I am in my Indian store, they have so many kinds to choose from (many with writing I cannot understand) that it is too overwhelming.

Have fun!

Dabur Amla Oil and all sorts of other oils - sweet almond oil, coconut oil, castor oil, etc. Plus they're all so cheap.

Vatika Oil
Vatika Henna creme conditioning shampoo
Amla Oil

I got the above plus:
shikakai powder
amla powder
jamila henna
Beauty Herbal Henna Plus
Jasmine Oil
Keo Karpin Hair Oil
Aritha Powder

I went a little crazy the last time I went.:look:

Vatika
Vatika honey and saffron soap
Methi powder
sandalwood powder
tulsi powder
gram or besan flour
turmeric
Brahmi powder
Brahmi oil
Shikakai powder
Amla powder
Uttam and Dulhan henna
Jasmine Oil
Keo Karpin Hair Oil
Aritha Powder
Meera Powder

Indian Grocery store henna, common sense rule I follow but I may be missing something, let me know if I am - if it has a picture of a hennaed hand or foot and only one listed ingredient - henna- it is BAQ and I buy it for a fraction of the cost of online purchases. I also notice that Indian women buy the henna from Indian grocery stores and I figure they know what they are doing.

Hi, Tishee,

I'm so glad I went back to this post or I might not have seen your request! ;)
Here are the ingredients from the Nyle Herbal Shampoo:

Key ingredients: Acacia concinna (Shikakai) extract, Lawsonia alba (henna) extract, Emblica officinalis (Amla) extract, Fragrance

This is what is says on the bottle: "Nyle Herbal Shampoo with extra conditioning is gentle and gives your hair the overall natural nourishment and protection it needs. Use Nyle Shampoo as often as yiu like for healthy, shiny hair."

"Shikakai, traditionally used for hair cleansing, reduces hair loss and removes dandruff. Henna is a traditional, natural deep conditioner for shiny hair. Amla strengthens hair fibres, reduces hair loss and helps to keep it black and beautiful."

It was $5.99 at the Indian store I went to; if you buy it, make sure you check the manufacture's date and when they expect it to expire (it'll say, best use before 2 years from PKD - package date, I imagine); the one I got was a month or two after the expiration, so they gave me a small discount.

HTH! :D

My staples continue to be:

Dabur Amla Oil
Henna
Bhringraj Powder
Bhringraj Oil
Bhrami Powder
Bhrami Oil
Shikakai Powder
Neem Powder

Reintroduced Vatika and Sampoorna Oils.

thanks sweetie. I am going to an Indian store Tuesday, the lil one is out of school today.

My Staples:

  • Rajasthani Henna
  • Almondol-contains coconut, sweet almond oil, castor oil, and the usual herbs.
  • 100% pure coconut oil
  • 100% pure castor oil (just purchased some Black Castor oil and will try it out.)
  • Amla- not used often in my hair but I do use it on skin-I have officially stopped breaking out.
  • Shikakai powder-excellent scalp cleaner and hair strengthener. Doesn't require alot. I coconut my hair first and them apply to the scalp only. Then I let it sit for several minutes then rinse out while massaging the scalp and rinsing down the length of the hair. There is LESS hair fall (daily shedding) with this!!
