NY ladies where can I find an indian store that sells Dabur Alma oil, Dabur Vatika coconut oil and Dabur Jasmin hair oil? I would love to know before I order online again. My bottle of Alma oil is almost gone because the bottle fell while I was using it.:perplexed  :(

Thanks

I found all three of these oils at Kalyustans (123 Lexington between 28th & 29th Sts.) Their hours are Mon-Sat 10-8:30, Sun 11-7. I bought Amla Plus, Vatika, and Hair Vitalizer. I'm saving the jasmine for later. Before you go there, though, there's another store on 28th bet. Lex and Park called Butala Emporium that I think has better prices. I saw it after I finished shopping.

I'm planning to go out to Jackson Heights when I get a chance. Their prices are probably even better.

Hi Oglorious1:

I went on a whim! I hit those two Cash and Carrys and one in between the two! I was on a mission. I could see myself going back for bulk carrier oils. I was interested in the mustard oil for some reason.

I kind of like the earthy, curry smell in the shops. Everyone was very nice although I could tell they were a bit curious as to what I was doing there: a Black woman with twists, a baby with a huge kinky curly fro, a 6 year old with plaits, and an 11 year old with tumbling curls/waves buying bottles and bottles of hair oil.

We'll have to get everyone together for an OILFEST soon. YOu, me, Divineinspiration, VWVixxen, Ct, etc.

Tomorrow I'm getting a few empty bottles and mixing some of these oils together and see what jumps off. I might even whip up some shea something or nother. I gotta figure out what to do with that Brahmi though....

I know huh!!!

I'll be going this Friday morning/afternoon, thanks for the store suggestions, that'll save me a lot of wandering around time. Rush hour traffic coming back South ain't no joke!!

I can't go Saturday cause there's a big Bodybuilding Show here in Diego and I've got to show love for my fellow competitors

Thank you so much!! That is where I bought my oils from last night too. I did a search over the weekend on yahoo and I found the website for the one on Lex (28th & 29th Street).

Whenever these oils that I bought are finish I will go to the other store you suggested. I purchased the Dabur Vatika coconut oil, Dabur Jasmine oil, Ancient formula castor herbal oil and Dabur amla oil. I was also going to buy the Dabur Herbal shampoo but I decided to leave that one on the shelf.:look: I can't let my PJism get the best of me.

i have the navratna oil and the dabur vatika oils, the 1st one is very strong smelling, but i do love them both, i also buy my henna from the indian mart.everything is so cheap.

I've used the Dabur Vatika oil for years after I shampoo/co-wash. I also use the Amla oil not as a pre-poo, but in my leave-in spritz. I like the smell! My hair is shiny and soft from both.

I actually like the smell of the Dabur Amla Oil (it reminds me of the incense oils that the muslim brothers used to sell). I was in an Indian Grocery Store this past weekend and the lady was very nice and helpful. She said the Indian ladies massage the Amla Oil into their scalp at night before going to bed and wash it out the following morning. I tried it with a plastic shower cap and satin bonnet. The following morning I washed it out and my hair felt silky smooth.

Speaking of Indian oils.....

I got a lot of products from India but my favorite this far is the Mahabhringraj Tail. I have a problem with my edges thinning and greying. Using this for 2 weeks, my grey hair is less noticeable. I haven't notice if the area is thicker yet but I like this oil. Smells funny but I can live with it.

Tishee...If you make it back to this thread....... PM if you havent found a place in town. I found one today and picked up a few things.

Could someone help me , i recently bought amla oil and would like to know different ways to use it, any infromation on the oil and any india products. Am having a problem doing a search and can not pull up any older threads past the year 2005. Can some one post any links to older threads fo me. Thank you in advance.

I tried an experiment with my amla. I mixed equal parts of amla, navratna, and MTG together in a small 6 oz container.
The combination of the three seems to cancel out the smells of each other. It has a pleasant (little perfumey) scent. I apply it to my hair at night and massage in.
Try it, just mix a little (maybe 1 oz each) to see if you like it.

Hi I'm a newbie...but I've lurked on this site for about a year. I have a question though. I didn't want to start a new post. Does anyone still use Kesavardhini?

I'm doing everything to try and find this oil and I can't anywhere....I haven't gone to a local grocery cuz the last time I was there I made a fool outta myself trying to pronouce Vatika.

Anyone know where I can find some?
