Before I did my touch up, I noticed an increase of shrinkage and volume in my hair. Could this be a sign of Hair growth? Is it just s sign of my hair being healthier?

I am completely natural. My hair shrinks up all the time. I was pleasantly surprised that it had some lenght when I straightened it. I am bumping your thread for more responses.

This seems like it would make sense since the unprocesses/natural hair would cause lots of shrinkage.

But beyond it just being new growth, I do think that shrinkage may be a marker for hair health - for example, perhaps it's a sign of healthy, well-moisturized hair so it shrinks up? Obviously I have no scientific facts! :)
