Well I put some in now these lil nuts in crannies wont come out! It's my fault really for putting in a really gritty shikakai, It will wash out one day I guess. Any of y'all know a nice powdery type that washes out easily? Please help!

Wow...sorry that happened. I just use what ever brand was at the indian store. Try combing through a conditioner with lots of slip and then rinse again.

Yes, I would try adding conditioner, rinse, add conditioner, and rinse. That helped me. I ended up using all my hot water rinsing that stuff out. But just count it as a lesson learned.

try using a VO5 conditioner to get the particles out, saturate your hair with conditioner, work it through and rinse, repeat until the shikakai is removed, i usually end up using the entire bottle

You already have the advice - nothing to add. But I was going suggest that next time, make the shikakai into a tea and use that. The first time I used it, I was rinsing for what felt like hours. Now, I put some (with other herbs) into the coffee maker, let it run through, pour it back in and let it run through again. It turns out nice and dark and cleans hair like nobody's business.

It may depend on the amount you use too. When I use it I pour in enough powder to cover the bottom of the bowl then add water to form a watery mixture then I pour it into my hair. I only let it sit on the scalp. When rinsing it off, them shikakai goes down the hair shaft washing it. I like to use a conditioner while rinsing it out.
