Yep, I said it. Of course as of late, I've been washing and rollersetting nightly. So, that might be the problem.

Tonight, I plan to relax my hair straighter than usual, then possibly start wrapping/molding my hair. (I have an ear-length bob)

Any suggestions?

It's not so bad if you are just washing your hair once per week and then rollersetting and sitting under the dryer. That shouldn't take very long. I could understand it being tiring at night, but maybe on a weekend in the morning or afternoon time when you are refreshed.

I am all for the rollersetting, because the ends become sealed in a very healthy way, especially if you're using a good leave in or setting lotion. After the rollerset is dry, I have noticed that my hair is a lot stronger, and I have no breakage or need for many trims. With wrapping wet hair, the ends are exposed while being dry, so I feel it's less healthier for those ends which are critical to protect and retain length. Just my opinion.

Yes, they can become tiresome, but for me it's the healthiest thing for my hair. I was rollersetting twice a wk (Wed-Sat) up until 2 wks ago. I no longer roller set on Wed now, just Sat. This is working out very good so far.

Yeah, I'm doing too much. And I'm getting tired of NTM, so I think I'll be using real setting lotion. I'm really looking into revamping even bimonthly washes again.

I got super tired of it. I hate wet crinkly fingers so much and I knew the longer my hair would grow, the more I would hate it. So I stopped. Just wasn't worth it IMHO. My hair wasn't that much more moisturized and I was tired of looking wild after 4 weeks post. But if you are not a quitter like me :lachen: I would keep it up if you are seeing great results.

I say wash, condish. and roller saran/wrap afterwards and then wrap it up at night. When I had my famous ear length bob I used to do this.

Every night is too much. Try cutting back to twice a week. You can put a few rollers in at night to maintain your style. Try the mesh or silk wrapped foam ones as they are easier to sleep on.

It usually really helps my hair but my hair is acting weird so just sitting under the dryer with my hair hanging with clips on the side to keep it down is help a lot. It's become much easier.

So...I did not rollerset last night. :grinwink:

I did a crucial retouch and made sure I straightened and smoothed the hair really good. Washed that out really good. While my hair was wet and combed all the way back, I tied a scarf on and sat under the dryer. Afterwards I curled it with a curling iron (heat...yes, I know) and put the scarf back on.

This morning.... I combed some bangs to the side and put on a cute headband.

I might incorporate nightly wrapping and keep this up for 2 weeks until another wash :smirk: Also, next time I wash, I'll be using cholesterol.

Washing and rollersetting NIGHTLY would tire anyone out.

When I had ear-length hair, I would wash once or twice a week. I would wrap at night (which I do not recommend you do often because it weakens the hair, and if you do, be sure to alternate the direction of the wrap). And Carusos are healthy, because of the steam.

I would also sleep with rollers at night, mesh rollers or satin rollers are comfortable.

Then I incorporated Caruso Steam rollers, which was a God send when I was that length. I would sleep with a satin scarf. In the morning, I would set the Carusos in. You do not need a lot of Carusos and it takes only about 10-20 mins for the hair to set. My hair always looked coifed with the Carusos.

Washing AND rollesetting everynight seems like a lot of manipulation IMO. Before I started wearing falls, I used to rollerset my whole head twice a week and even that was way too tiring. Now I just rollerset the hair that is left out twice a week and it only takes 5 mins. Then i airdry overnight. But I notice now that the front of my hair is not growing as fast as the back. The back used to be half as long as the front, now the back is longer.:nono: It is still growing but much much slower than the back. I have to find a way to balance it.
