I'm thinking about tryin Profectiv products?

i used the healthy ends and it worked ok but I was in buns then. That product is too heavy in my opinion to use on styles that you ewar your hair down. The other products contain water, such at healthy roots, and made my hair revert. The oil sheen spray was very nice, probably may favorite.

i forgot to mention, they have this break free gel that is pink, but that reminded me of curl activator so i would invest in curl activator instead of using that profectiv product

I recently bought Profectiv Break Free, and I don't like it. I use it sparingly, but it leaves my hair hard, and it BREAKS (imagine that!). I could seal it with an oil, and my hair will still break. My 3rd Profectiv product that I didn't like. My 1st product try was the 3-in-1 oil, which left my hair hard as a brick--scared my sh*tless! 2nd product was Healthy Ends. It was OK, but too heavy.

Now I definately won't try their relaxer!

I use the healthy ends but was going to say the opposite! I like it because it's not heavy on my hair. I use it the night before though and sparingly. By morning it's absorbed in my hair and my ends are soft and moisturized and my hair isn't weighed down.

My experience with profectiv products were that I love the mega growth, anti thinning and neutralizing shampoo. I have also tried the relaxer and it was okay no complaints.
However, I don't like healthy ends it is too heavy on hair and the mega moisturizer to heavy which had oil listed first.

I've been a profectiv junkie for like 2 and a half years. I love their products.

Breakfree- I use it everyday, but at night. I use it as my after shampoo leave-in (w/ a plastic cap for 15 minutes) and I use it on my ends before I relax.

Growth masque- I use this once a week. It is a light protein deep conditioner that is also very moisturizing. My only peeve is that i use the whole jar for one treatment (unless they have the double size at the store). It is thick in consistency.

Clean and Healthy- This is the profectiv shampoo. It is by far one of the most moisturizing shampoos I have ever used. It rivals the Keracare hydrating and detangling shampoo (which I also use weekly).

60 second strengthener- My mother uses this weekly but I only use it once in a while. It is thin but gives okay slip. It works good for thinner hair.

Long and Healthy- This is a staple. A little goes a long way. I use it on my hair to style it in the mornings. It helps with elasticity.

Healthy Ends- I use this everynight. It ISNT heavy for my hair and I dont use it on just the ends. I just put a whole lot on my ends at night and it is all absorbed by morning. I've only started using this product like this since december and there is a huge different in my ends. It is good for slicking edges.

The relaxer- I use it, love it and I have a review of it somewhere on here. The neutralizing mousse is awesome!

Other products- If I have not mentioned any of their other products, it is because they havent worked for me. But the ones that I did mention are a godsend for me and my family. :)

None of profectiv's products have mineral oil or petroleum. Use a water based product (like breakfree or root healthy) with an oil based one like (healthy ends, long and healthy, or mega growth) for the best results.

Hope this helps!

I just started using Profectiv. I bought Healthy Ends and Break Free a week ago. I've been putting them on at night, right before I tie my hair up and go to bed. So far, so good.

I love the Root Health & the Mega Growth.... decided to return to these products. They just keep my hair sooo moisturized .... why did I ever stop using these;) ;) ;)

So can anyone offer any reviews?

Much appreciated!:D

oh gurrrrllll!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Breakfree as a leave-in conditioner! Did I mention that I LOVE this stuff?!! I also coat my hair with it BEFORE I self-relax.
It's all I use as a leave in, and my hair luuubbs it!!! I just wish those containers were larger!

I also use the Healthy Ends from time to time to moisturize my ends overnight. It's pretty good as well!! VERY THICK, but it's pretty good.

The long and healthy daily leave in moisturizer (in the pink-ish tinted bottle) is good also---a little thick and heavy, but it's aight. I just purchased the hair oil, but I haven't used it long enough to give a review.

I've also used the Profective relaxer in the past, and I loved it! I stopped using it, because it is no-lye---and after reading on this board and in the Shamboosie book about no-lye relaxers not being good. :ohwell: But I'm thinking about trying it again for my next relaxer, because I really did have great results with it!!

But back to that BreakFree. I LOVE that stuff! (just in case you missed it the first time! )

WOAH! I found someone as enthusiastic about Profectiv as me.

I used Profectiv products about five years ago, on my relaxed hair. At that time, there were only about four products available, and I used them all. I liked what they did for my hair.

I was sealing the Break Free with jojoba oil every morning and my hair was breaking, too. I ran out of Break Free this morning and I will not be repurchasing it.

I'm going back to NTM Silk Touch. I wanted to try Break Free to see if it was even better than Silk Touch (the PJ in me), but it definitely isn't.

I've been using Break Free every day for 7 or 8 weeks. For the last 2 weeks I was using it twice a day. I'm not impressed with it for my hair, but it's great that it's worked so well for other ladies.

I LOVE Breakfree!!!

apples...they do have a bigger container than the round flat one (if that's the one you meant). The ones they sell in regular stores are like 4.25 oz or something like that and the BSS carries 8.25 oz.

I started off with MegaMoisturizer (pink liquid) and like it. Then I moved to Breakfree and it did good things for my hair. But Roothealth outshines Breakfree for me. I do combinations of RootHealth/Megamoisturizer or Breakfree/Roothealth and my 4a/4b hair has never felt silkier:D
Also adding MegaGrowth to either Breakfree or Roothealth is a winning combination!!!

I purchased the MegaMoisturizer yesterday. Have yet to try it, I'm taking out my twists and will apply after i get my hair done... We shall see.. I'll update with the results.

Sally's also sells the larger sizes--that's where I got my Break Free from.

*If anyone wants to take it off my hands, be my guest! I only used it once, so it's virtually untouched. PM me if interested...*

LMAO @ your reply. I feel the same way. The 3-in-1 oil scared the crap outta me; it made my hair so hard.

I agree... my hair didn't like it either...I think it was too thick..i tried the healthy ends and mega growth and both products weighed my hair down...

I'm also not too fond of the smell.
