i'm really feeling this guy's blowout

So I've seen this up-and-coming singer Jesse Boykins in concert in Miami and I noticed he was wearing cornrows but this video was the first time I saw his hair out and I think it's GORGEOUS, and the song ain't bad either

I guess we all have different ideas of what a blow out is? Maybe my definition is incorrect? I thought a blow out was when you got the hair pretty straight like right before you flat iron it. To me this looks like he just stretched his hair with bands or maybe an old twist out. Am I thinking the wrong thing?

A blow out looks just like that. Everyone's hair blows out differently. Some like it more straigt than others.

Maybe there are different degrees or blowoutedness? I've never been able to get my hair even relatively straight with a blow dryer.

I'm natural and I think perhaps a lot of other naturals may agree with me when I say a blow out usually is percieved as using a blowdryer on the hair not for straightening purposes. We don't usually do it to flat iron right afterwards.

Thank you. When I was natural earlier this year I didn't use a blow dryer on my hair except to straighten lol. I guess I could have used it for other purposes.

I am one of those who's hair goes nearly bone straight with just a tad of heat.
