I'm ready for an extreme

So lately I have been washing, dcing, and flat ironing once a week for about the past 3 weeks since my mom got a new flat iron ,lol. I usually don't use any heat at all, but that flat iron had me feeling all cute and wearing my hair down a lot. Now with winter here I am ready for an extreme. For the whole winter I don't want to use any heat and I want to try to stretch at least until my LHCF anniversary in Feb. My last relaxer was Nov 25. I want to do more protective styles, which I haven't been doing and I want to cut down on manipulation. I have been flexi rod setting every night, but there is a lot of tension on my hair when I do this and sometimes my edges are sore afterwards so I don't think that's good. Are regular loose ponytails a protective style if I pin the ends up?

As long as your ends are hidden and protected, you'll be fine :yep:

(my anniversary's in February too!!! )
