I'm not sure why I'm tickled other ethnicities use grease

I think it's just anybody with processed hair would benefit from a moisturizer or natural oil. Bleached hair that's that light would be as damaged (if not more) than relaxed hair. I think it's pretty normal.

Truth, but her willingness to use a grease and recommend it even though she clearly hated it is entertaining. I don't even use grease, but she does. It's kinda funny. My grandbabes are 1/2 Mexican and one has a very similiar hair texture. I can't even imagine trying to get that mess out of her hair. I wonder if she would be happier trying regular cold pressed castor oil or JBCO.

If you venture over to long hair community a lot of the women there use oils in their hair. I have Indian friends that use oil in their hair as well. It shocked me too at first, but now I know its a normal thing. :)

I love visiting other hair sites. I actually learned more about castor oil from one of these sites, but I never seen them use a grease.

Off topic: I was shocked to learn new way to tie my headscarf from a yt lady on youtube. Of course my favorite video was tying in the crown method. I didn't even know they had names for the way you tie a scarf.

Did yall see Mississippi Masala when Mina's Mom was oiling her hair by the pool?

Great minds  . It's like a miracle oil. The more I learn about it the more I love it. Did you see Sunshyne's review?

YouTube - Castor Oil Challenge Results

great minds, indeed! i just watched the video. thanks for posting the link. it's exactly what i was looking for - someone's experience with RESULTS. i'm still a little leery b/c i've been here for awhile and i've avoided all bandwagons. castor oil kinda feels like a bandwagon to me. :ohwell: but, i may check it out.

do you use it? what have your results been? are you using regular or jbco? if i do it, i'll use the regular cause i keep reading that the jbco is a little stinky. i just can't..

I use regular cold pressed castor oil on my hair and face and the verdict is still out as far as my hair goes. I've been using the castor oil for a month and it feels thicker than what it was a month ago. The problem is I mixed it with sulfur and monistat, and I do nightly scalp massages. So I can't really give a fair opinion on what ingredient is causing the increase.

I haven't relaxed since September and the new growth is to thick to even try to get an accurate measure.

I ordered the JBCO from amazon and hour ago. I have never used that.

I can say it has helped me keep my facial skin from looking dry this winter.

It sounds like the highest rated comment was made by a member here, "i think you should get straight into why people went into your video.. HAIR GROWTH, not your boyfriend.." :giggle:

Yeah, I am am tickled pink. But I think she should have researched a little more for the pure castor oil and would have gotten it much cheaper at the SAME CVS!

But there *is* a difference between oiling ones hair and greasing one hair. She was using a grease.

Yeah you never saw Black people in those Alberto VO5 commercials back in the day. They used to sell this petroleum based product in a tube

i was tickled more when i was on a forum and some white kids were hyping up "JAM" like they just found some diamonds:grin:

I was wondering why nobody else was seeing that  . Not just grease but cheap poor clogging grease on her scalp.

LOL - I remember VO5!
I lived in the Philippines while in high school. The Filipino girls hipped me to coconut oil back then.

Also, lived in Greece as a little girl. We used Olive Oil back then too.
