I just rinsed the last conditioner out, and I think I'm in love!! I was soo scared that my hair would fall out. As its drying its still shrinking up alot, so I probably could have left it on a little longer. I started to rinse 12 minutes after I started applying. I was scared to smooth, so I really didn't at ALL, just enough to get it all on. I should have smoothed the back a little because that is my strongest hair, although its my straightest. Any way I will post pics as soon as I can take some. (DH has camera and is still at work).

Congrats SerenityK. Looking forward to the pics as well. My hair still shrinks a lot, but just like with natural hair, braid/twist outs will show a lot more length.

cant wait to c the pix either. what made u decide to relax?

I had been debating it for 2 years. I haven't been so happy w/the way my hair had been looking, and started to debate cutting it, and I always said the next time I cut my hair, I will relax first. Well due to personal issues/growth, its time for a change. I'm really happy too, because I have no guilt associated w/it. I thought that I would regret it but now I see I could have done it alot sooner.

Thanks! Now that it is dry, it looks EXACTLY the same. The only difference is the way my scalp feels. I will probably do a corrective in six weeks and smooth a little bit. I should have known though because I did several strand tests, and the last test was left on for over 30 minutes ( I forgot it),and when I rinsed it, it still had alot of curl to it. I'm dissappointed because as I was rinsing, it looked perfect, and I thought thats how it would stay. Oh, and it didn't burn at all. I was surprised about that.

What type of relaxer did you use? I know what you mean by it feels great when wet then looks the same. I did 3 correctives and now 3 months post i still can't tell the difference between my new growth and the texlaxed stuff.

I can't wait to see pics

I used silk elements mild. I mixed in some liquid protein, conditioner, and some serum.

How long did you wait to do the corrective?
