Okay I just subscribed to this site and let me say it is awesome and it holds a lot of information, but I'm so lost! It's so much and it's overwhelming. I am transitioning my hair without the BC (learned a little bit of the lingo, lol:yep:).

Now I condition my hair about once a week, braid it in cornrows, and wearing a wig. My hair is dry and hard and I need it softer and more manageable.

I'm looking to grow my hair out armpit length, currently it’s under my ear, and have it pressed. I am looking for a great hear care regiment (I think I'm a 3c/ 4a) and tips on keeping my hair healthy.

WHERE DO I START?!?!

FYI: Anyone have a cheat sheep with all the abbreviations on LHCF!

:newbie:

You can search, as many will tell you. But for some quick help: are you deep conditioning? With heat? And with a conditioner that does NOT contain sodium laurel sulfates (sls)? Also, after you condition, seal with an oil. people use coconut oil, vitamin e oil, olive oil. You can also start using a leave in conditioner daily or every other day. My standby is 1 part vegetable glycerine, 1 part natural aloe vera juice and a little castor oil in a spray bottle. (Ingredients you can get at whole foods, vitamin shoppe, trader joes or even some super walmarts).

Good luck! I didn't BC either, just started to go longer and longer between relaxers. Deep conditioning with heat is great, are you using a heat cap? Look into Aveda's Damage Remedy line, if it's in your budget, its worth the price.
