here is an old picture of my hair, its wet with some styling creme on it. Fresh out the shower, its a little longer - more lengthened curls. i consider myself to be a type 3b/c. (right?)

curly hair takes a lot of experimenting. i've only been wearing mine curly for about 8 months. i was a habitual flat-ironer before that. send your hubby away for a weekend and experiment. maybe you're the type who doesn't have to put any product on your hair. you can maybe just wet it, run condish thru, rinse some of it out and let it air dry. or maybe dampen it and make a french braid (that gives me bigger curls.) i'm sure you look great with your hair either straight or curly! it just takes some time to get used to. (but, i have to admit that i prefer mine straight with some thick waves at the bottom.)

love the look...not sure about your hair type, are u natural?

No, you have to base your hair type off your new growth sweetie, not your relaxed hair

Even if it's natural, still need to see the root to type it. But it's beautiful hair regardless.

Wrldcurlz is this a picture of your hair completely natural? If so, looks 3b to me.

Plenty, my hair is NOT relaxed! So its ALL new GROWTH. I haven't had a relaxer in 10 YEARS!!!!!! all that is on my hair in that picture is conditioner and quarter sized dollop of mousse!

yes, i am natural. thank you for the nice comment. that was taken on a good hair day. sometimes its much bigger and goes east-to-west.

My hair looks like yours after a press(After being washed). But I'm a 4b. Do you press your hair. Over time pressing can change the "texture" of the hair but not the curl pattern of the hair that's still growing. Do you know what type of curl pattern you have?

Thanks Golden & kitchentician!! I wanted to reply to say that i LOVE your hair! Golden, I'd like to figure out how you got those hair sticks in your hair. I cannot seem to do that! I'm always checking out both of your albums! Kitchen - i LOVE your highlights! what color did they use? i've been thinking about highlighting my hair, but i'm scared. please PM me about how you keep it looking so healthy & the color.

to answer your other question, i've been natural since '97.

i used to press. when i stopped getting relaxed, i did nothing but wash, condition & bun for almost a year. then i found a good salon close to home so i started getting it pressed almost once a week. but, after 6 years, i wasn't making the kind of growth progress i wanted to make, so i stopped pressing regularly in may 2005. now i'm only getting it pressed occasionally. for example, i had it pressed once in august '05 and again in december '05. i'm hoping to go at least until march. i'm trying to go as heat free as possible until i'm at my goal length. hopefully soon!!
