Ladies I have done. I have jacked my hair up. I went into Sally's planing on removing the brassiness from my hair. I got a packet of brown and some pure white 10. I only left it on 7 minutes. Whoa!! /images/graemlins/whyme.gif /images/graemlins/cry3.gif I really need my butt kicked.

What can I do besides dying it black? I know that wont take. Last time I put a rinse in it lasted No time.

It's gonna be ok Kei.

I don't suggest dying it.

I would say try a deep brown semi-permanent (something by Sebastians colourshines) as I know from experience that trying a black over lightened hair MAY turn a little green. (Don't ask

) The colourshines last pretty long. I got my color like the second week of august (The color in my hair is Coffee Bean but it looks black) and I STILL have the color.

Oh yeah and this is for jacking up your hair /images/graemlins/spank.gif Now I know you have learned your lesson so I won't do that again.

I am so sorry this happened. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I hope some of the color experts come out of the woodwork and help you. Bump!

im a kitchen chemist...lool...I know how your feeling right now...what was done to your hair before was it bleached? highlighted? what?

what did you use to re dye it?! and what color is it now?!
answer these and I will try to help you to the best of my ability!!

Kei-I know EXACTLY how you feel. /images/graemlins/kiss.gif I went to a "professional" and wanted my hair a streaked LIGHT BROWN and she made my hair blonde! Some of the streaks were so light that they even looked WHITE! Girl, I almost fainted in that salon! I was so upset that I almost left my keys and purse behind! I ended up going to Wal-Mart salon to one of the head stylist, a white lady (on the same day) and told her what happened. She did a great job! I would have NEVA went there before, but I was looking a HOT MESS! She put a dark brown rinse (it looked black when she finished) on my hair and deep conditioned it. I haven't had any damage so far. This has been since mid August. I am back to a brown now. I have put another rinse on it. I also made sure to condition it very well. I am so sorry to hear this happened to you. I know how it feels to get something TOTALLY different than what you wanted/expected. It'll be OK! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Poor thing. I did the same thing many months ago and was frantic. It washed/dulled out eventually but my bangs were breaking (I used highlights). In order to save my hair I colored with a black rinse. It didn't work. I tried it again. It didnt' work. I learned that I needed a red based semi-permanent. I recommend Dark and Lovely. I am now auburn though I prefer black. It's better than green though which is what it was turning.

I would recommend a demi-perm color like Clairol Natural Instincts. When I had my hair fiasco 2 years ago where I dyed it black then stripped it - I used Natural Instincts to recolor it and suffered very little damage.

You need a light reddish brown semi-perm color, before attempting a dark brown or you'll end up green.

About 2 years ago, I went to a hair stylist to get light brown highlights. Come to find out, they turned out BLONDE! I wore it for a few months and decided to color my hair black because they were too loud for me. I used Clairol Nice & Easy Blue Black permanent color. It did NOT turn my hair green. My hair was all the way solid black in no time. I don't know your standpoint on permanent hair colors, but it did the trick for my blonde highlights! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

[/ QUOTE ]if your close to blonde...or stipped most of your color from your hair you have to use something red based....you dont have to use RED per say but you need to add some red dye to the color your looking to achieve

when your doing a tint back you have to add the pigments that are missing to act as a basic foundation for your new color....

what i would do is use Second Nature by Clairol...Clairol dye is the best to me...love it...

use 1.5 ounces of 139N DARK NATURAL BROWN

1/2 an ounce of 155R-RED this will add the missing red pigments back into your hair for an even brownish color

and 2 ounces of 20-volume pure white creme developer

what i would suggest doing is mix those all together and put it on for at least 15-30 minutes until you get the color you want...strand test...i can not emphasize that more than once....

after you get what your looking for rinse, shampoo and DEEP condition your hair...

I would personally go to a color technician at your salon to do this...but if you dont want too...than try to follow those steps it will help you achieve a brown color instead of a greenish tinted brown or black...

Black is a blue based color so if your hair is a gold or a violet you will get a greenish color

hope this helps

Oh btw if you dye again and its overally brassy you need to neutralize the color use Clairol Complements True Gel Color

if its orangish in tone you have to use a blue (cool tone) to neutralize it so use the Blue box... If its yellowish at violet to neutralize the yellow....

I have probably came across every mistake that you could make when coloring hair...I color my weaves add highlights and stuff so if you ever need help let me know

Your hair will only end up green if the base of the dark brown or black has a blue base. If you use one that has a red base you will be fine. Yellow (blonde) and blue (base) make green. Not saying it will be green right away, and it may not happen at all, however, once the color begins to fade, you may end up with green hair.

Thanks Ladies. I used your Great advice and put a copper rinse in my head.

I have a new problem. Red dye on my forehead. Any advice?

I usually use witch hazel or alcohol on a q-tip. I never tried the toothpaste technique, so let me know if that works. I may use that in the future.
