Essence is currently conducting their survey for their Beauty Awards. Here's our chance to give some of the smaller, lesser known companies some shine! Its no secret how much I love Bee Mine, but there are a number of small, black owned hair lines that need the exposure IMHO. I love (the new) Essence, but it kind've annoyed me when I saw Laila Ali's new line featured MONTHS before it was even available in stores...when there are so many quality, natural, organic lines already on the market.

What, no Taliah Waajid? I myself don't use the line; I used the Protective Mist Bodifier as a moisturizer for a while and I started getting SSKs- and I'm relaxed (new growth started making the loops during stretches). I know she fell out of favor with some people when she changed up formula, but dang LOL

SN: This thread was not supposed to make me wanna buy something NEW! Tell me why I suddenly feel I can't live without trying Darcy's Botanicals?!?! :lachen: Ahhh, the PJ in me is still alive and well! :yep:

I loved Hairveda, but can't get with them anymore after learning that ol' girl uses bases. One of her styling products (I think it's the almond glaze) is freakin' LIP BALM. WTH? :nono: I just can't recommend those products to anyone, especially with how ridiculously long it takes her to ship some bases with added fragrance.

Hairveda. My staple line

Shescenit - peppermint shampoo is the best but it always sold out.

Shea Moisture - the holding mist is a great lightweight, not greasy moisturizer

I stopped ordering from her because the wait time was entirely too long.
