If you have one thinner side of hair

It depends on how thin. If I wasn't in any particular rush in terms of growth, I would cut between 1/2 inch and 1 full inch to try to make my overall style more blunt cut which helps add some sort of heaviness to thinner hair. I actually have been itching to go ahead and blunt up my hair. Its almost there but I need a smigden cut off to do it right.

My left side of my hair is thinnner then the right side, due to the fact that the protein treatment that I use didnt dry all the way on the left side. I wont cut it. I'll just baby that left side until it gets as thick as the right side.

Is this something you just noticed or has it always been this way? One side of my head has more hair on it than the other side, so cutting it won't change anything. In any case, I probably wouldn't cut it, especially if you don't know what caused it. If it's being caused by something you're doing and you haven't figured out what it is yet, when you cut you might end up doing the same thing and getting the same results.

one side of my head is thinner than the other too. its always been that way but its not noticeable. it didd feel thicker when i had just freshly bc'ed thoug

I have always had more hair on the right side of my hair, thicker and longer, so from time to time, I even it up, usually take of an inch on the right side every 2-3 months

My hair is thicker on the left side. I've always noticed it.

The human body isn't always perfect or in perfect balance. It's probably totally normal to have different density in different places.

Unless it is severe damage or severe thinning, I don't worry about it.

Well for me, my right side is thinner than my left. But my right side is longer than my left... I also notice that i do sleep on my right side majority of the time and that's probably why its thinner due to my head weight against my bed. I would leave as is, and if the one side is your sleeping position, try to sleep on the other side or on your back. I wouldn't cut it just trim it, you might have to make sure to do extra TLC on that side by making sure to mositure the ends and seal it with Alma right before you go to bed... HTH :rolleyes

Thank you ladies for your thoughts. The hair on my left side isn't damaged, it just doesn't have the same bulk which most likely is normal. I'll try to keep my hands away from the scissors but i'm not making any promises. I've already cut my hair last week from APL (the bottome layers) to just past shoulder so overall i'm now back at shoulder length more or less. I'm so fickle :yep:

ok - i never thought about the fact that one side would just naturally be thinner, i always attributed my thinner side to abuse - while that is largely the case in my case, i wonder how much of my uneveness would be there regardless.

I kinda have that problem too. But it wasn't natural for me. Probably a year or so ago, I got really frustrated with my hair in the back and just started brushing the crap outta one side of my hair trying to make it lay down...:perplexed
I was left with a small bald spot there and had to regrow that small area. As a consequence, The right back side of my hair is thicker than the left side..xD Idk, it'd be funny to me now if I know i didn't stupidly cause it. Anyways, it filled in and is fine, though I'm considering buying a growth aid and just applying to one side of my head to see if I can get that side to catch up.

But anyways, if one side is just naturally like that I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think people notice things like that unless they're all up in your head. (no one noticed my spot except someone who was working on my hair and it's only cause there was no hair covering the short patch).

No I wouldn't cut it. It can be hard to tell the difference between damage and just something that naturally occurs like the other ladies have said. Do you wear your hair the same way to bed every night? This might be contributing to the problem?

The middle of my head is thinner and I found that sleeping on it loose makes it get even worse.

I right was broken up to my ear and the let side was touching my collarbone about 2 years ago. A friend told me try Minoval. I used it for 6 months, did some protective styling and my hair grew back.

That is something that is natural for me the right side of my hair is thinner than the left.

I wouldn't cut it, I would try growth aid's, protective styling, work on my diet and scalp massage.

No... because it might grow back like that again. My left side has always been weaker than the right. I just learned to deal with it.
