If I wear a wash and go everyday, how should I tie up my hair at bedtime?

...without it becoming matted by morning??

I still don't understand how to sleep in natural hair.....I recently took out my twists from having them in for a while. I want to try wearing my natural hair out this summer. I love the wash and gos on my face and with my length of hair, but I don't want to keep sleeping on it every night. Any suggestions?

Great question, I've seen some people put their hair up in a loose high pony tail=pinapple and tie it up that way. All I know how to do is braid twist at night then dampen and re-fresh or 2 big loose braids, but I loose the curl and get waves instead. hth

Yeah, see I don't want to loose that natural curl pattern. I'm beginning to think......am I gonna have to sleep on my face every night ? Goodness, I hope not...

I have a TWA, so I just sleep on it "as is." I sleep on a satin pillowcase, so I don't wear my bonnet everynight to bed.

Mostly I do two bantu type knots. I scure the ends w/ a bobby pin. Sometimes I will do two loose braids.

Moisturize your hair, then part your hair down the middle, then put your hair into two puffs near the top of your head, and then tie a silk/satin scarf around your head. ;)

Good responses ladies. I always just rewash every morning because it's usually a hot mess after I wake up. I can't imagine the trouble thats going to cause me when my hair is longer.

Ditto!

I am going to try and see how Pooh Bear's method works.

I'm not natural but I sleep with a plastic cap on my head. My hair is usually drenched in some kind of conditioner or oil.

I'm doing washn go's too! But i have been cw-daily and then putting it two plaits at night... Usually when i sleep i put my hair into a ponytail and then i braid the length.

Yeah, I think I will either co wash daily or sleep with some moisturizer in and cover. I think with my hair length though, co wash isn't so bad as it doesn't really take that long....just wash and go! :D
