Re: If I use regular rubber bands will they melt!!
I don't think anyone was not trying to help you. People probably just didn't know the answer so they just skipped it. Also, you asked and only let 1/2 hr go by for an answer, I think you should bump it before giving up. I don't think you were being ignored. As for me I don't know if that would melt or not, even with oil on the rubberbands.

I wouldn't use regular rubber bands in my hair because they are known to cause damage to the hair. Try using an ouchless band/scrunchie. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
For example, if you really want to use something like a rubberband, you can opt to use silicon bands intead. HTH
ETA: I bought the Goody Ouchless Variety pack from Pathmark. ...all different types/sizes. I love them. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The rubberbands won't melt esp. not if you put oil on them, but I hope you're using the no breakage elastics. Regular ones (like office supply ones) might break your hair.

DANG!!! I just finished blowdrying my hair!! It's really my fault I was in a hurry. When I posted I already had the conditioner sitting in my hair for a hour and I needed to run out. Thanks anyways I'm gonna try the pony method in two weeks.
