I would like to try Bantu knots, will it work for my transitioning hair?

I tried Bantu knots for several days while I had new growth. It seemed to do every well with my hair as long as I did not touch or finger comb my hair too much. You could hardly see the new growth. I think it will be great to do as long as you provide plenty of moisture to your own hair. Check my pics in my fotki for my bantu knots style....

Yeah, I like bantu knots as a protective style. I've done them on 17 and 18 week post relaxer new growth, and it came out fine. I will say that mine had to be COMPLETELY dry before I took them down or it was a mess. But other than that, I really like the look, and I also did fun things with hair clips and ponytails after removing the knots.

THanks DivineInspiration and Shortness! BTW, I am about 18 wks post hair also, so I was glad to know that...

I did bantu knot-outs up until 6 months post relaxer when I finally cut off the relaxed hair. They were so pretty and they lasted me at least two days at a time.

I used to do sets using these when I was transitioning. I had pictures in my transitioning album. They looked good, but not as good as they could have since my hair was very uneven at the time. If done right they kinda come out looking like rollersets.

Ur welcome, DDTexlaxed, and thank u to the rest of u ladies! I'm gonna try them at my next wash and take a look at ur albums too!

I'm currently about 48 weeks post relaxer almost a whole year!!!

I'm now making two-strand twists and then bantu knotting them. It makes for a curlier result, hence the photo in my siggy.
