On the Grow and Keeping it Simple
I was doing homework for a sociology course with a classmate and she asked me, "Do you have a perm?" I said yes, but I'm growing it out. I was SO happy! :D Since I began my transition I've been wearing buns, twistout ponytails (just the ponytail twisted), and more buns. I love my wave pattern and my "naps"! Looking back I guess it could have been more of an insult, but she's not that type. I'm just happy my progress is visible.

I'm glad your progress is coming along well.

I was a medical appointment this morning, and one of the assistants asked me was I natural. I told her no, and I told her I don't get my hair relaxed bone straight, just relaxed enough to make it more manageable for me. If my hair weren't so thick, I would go natural. I just love looking at the hair albums of folks with natural hair.

I HATE when people ask me this question because its such a long answer. Here's the short answer: I'm growing my perm out, so half is natural and half is relaxed. But I airdry in plaits which makes it wavy. So, yes its "natural"!

Caligirl- i was waiting for the next question. WHY do you want to grow out your perm? Sigh...

Thanks Peachtree! You're one of my MANY hair idols.
