I read somewhere is sistaslicks fotki that she is 70% texlaxed or relaxed or something like that. What exactly does this mean. I am currently 9 weeks post relaxer and at my next touch-up, I want to be texlaxed, I think.

Ok I'm guessing 100% means bone-straight. But at what point do you know you are 70% relaxed. I recently touched up my edges, left it in about 10 minutes and it doesn't really look that much different.

It's just an estimate. It's relaxed more than halfway, but not completely straight. Just imagine it as a spectrum. I don't think that it's an exact science. You may want to search on this topic as well for further information. Use the terms "texturizer" and "texlax" and you should come up w/ MANY results. HTH

Since your edges is the most delicate part of your hair, leaving the relaxer on for 10 minutes might not be a wise thing. It's advisable, after you have relaxed the other part of your hair, to give the edges a quick 5-minute touch up before rinsing out the relaxer.
Texlax just means, leaving the relaxer in for a shorter period of time than the manufacturer recommends. Some people do not smooth as much also and when the hair is washed, it still has a little curl pattern to it, instead of being bone straight.

Thanks. I think I will have to go to a trusted stylist/friend to do my next touch-up, which is going to be texlaxed. I know I won't be able to see the back of my head without touching my scalp. Other than that, I will try to be stylist free

Before you do, please be aware that it can cause matting when wet, and is in my case very hard to straighten when dry. I now have to flat iron after a rollerset where as when I was relaxed 100% straight, I didnt have to use heat. However, people like Isis have no problems with dealing with it whilst others do correctives to get rid of it. Do your research first.
