yesterday and today my hair feels wonderful!! I mixed a paste of water and KK and let it sit on my hair for about 4 hours. It smells wonderful and even though I am 5 weeks post relaxer, my ng is so soft and easy to comb. I wasn't able to locate it here, but I had a wonderful buddy send me several packages. If you can locate it, I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

I think that it is saffron powder!

Curcumin
KUR-kyoo-min
What are other names for this remedy?

Type of medicine: natural remedy

Scientific and common names: Amomoum curcuma, Curcuma aromatica, Curcuma aromatica salisbury, Curcuma domestica, Curcuma domestica valet, Curcuma longa, curcumin, diferuloylmethane, E zhu, ((((((Indian saffron)))))English Indian saffron English Indian saffron , Indian yellow root, Jiang huang, turmeric root, tumeric, kunyit, yellowroot, Zedoary, zingiberene

What is curcumin?

Curcumin is made from the dried roots of the turmeric plant. The roots are ground into a deep yellow powder. The powder has a bitter, peppery taste and is used as a spice in foods. It is also used to add color to foods such as margarine, cheese, and mustard. Turmeric is also used in some cosmetics.

English ----Indian saffron

Turmeric is some*times confused with saffron because of similar staining capa*bilities, although saffron gives a more orange colour.(((( Since turmeric does not share the fasci*nating aroma of saffron,)))) it is not an accept*able sub*stitute or even alter*native to it! See annatto for a survey of food colour*ings.

After brief research, I concluded that the 'aromatic factor' strongly indicates INDIAN SAFFRON, rather than the tumeric in this case. Some call tumeric saffron. However it does not have the beautiful scent like the saffron.
