. I guess I had more damage than I thought from when the relaxer was applied through the length of my hair. I hope I've finally gotten it all. I've been trimming since December. But anyway, I was soo busy trying to make it to bra strap I was desperately trying to hold on to my ends after this last relaxer. Although, they were'nt horrible, they just weren't thick. Shoot I just picked up the scissors and was like... WHAT!! CHOP!!

But no, it really feels good, so I just wanted to share.

Questions for ya...

How long was your hair before and how long is it now?
Did you protect your ends during your hair care?
Also, are you trying to grow out of relaxing your hair and are you going natural?

I didn't measure my hair, so I can't give exact measurments. But It was about an inch from bra strap. I always protect my ends very well. I don't use direct heat and I do the baggy method when I go to work. My ends have been thinning since my relaxer touch up in december when a stylist put the relaxer all the way to the ends of my hair. My hair is already fine, so that was a BIG nono. I'm not going natural or anything, just trying to maintain a healthy head of hair

I think Im addicted to trimming..(not saying that you are) but it feels so good to trim. Having fresh ends feels wonderful! .....back to braids again before I cut a patch in my head

It will grow back in no time! In the meantime, you will enjoy your thicker hair without worrying that once it grows longer you'll have to cut it anyway! Happy Growing!

I'm sure it looks great. I get my touch-up in the morning so I'll see how my ends are looking then. I may just ask for dusting.
Happy, Healthy Growing...

Thanks ladies. I do love the look of thick ends. I may start trimming more often now.

Ms. Ayeshia...please put them braids back in before I have ta beat ya girl...no patches

Ayeshia- what would you say your hair type is? Are you able to keep your hair curly like that when it's dry or does it always look like "fur?"

I'm so proud of you, Army!!

I was complaining a few weeks ago about my stylist trimming off too much of my hair in the back, but I'm telling you, when I look at my nice, thick, even ends I have to admit that they look good!!!

I was planning on not having him trim my hair at all at my next touchup, but I might have to reconsider that, depending on how the ends look by August, when it's touchup time...

that's good Army!! I just did close to 3 inches about a month ago myself. I thought about it for a few weeks.
Thanks to the help of Hairlove and a few other ladies, I just went on ahead and did it. I don't have anymore thin ends. I have noticed that my hair is even bouncy now.

That's great, Army! You seem so happy.

This is it! I am going to give myself a trim of about 1 1/2 inches. I have a "U" shaped style that I am ready to trade in for thicker, blunt ends. I've been thinking about it for a while, but have been hesitating. This is the right time to do it since, like a lot of people, my hair grows faster in warm weather.

i have to hide the scissors from myself .. knowing me ill start cutting on a whim and end up with a hallie berry cut. trimming hair can be very addictive.

Congrats Army!!! Just dont become habitual with it (like I am
smile.gif
lol) at one point i trimmed my hair every week w/ every wash

I quickly stopped that, but my ends looked great and everyone always complimented me.

Trimming is truly addicitive y'all. I was back in the mirror last night again. I did some dusting

Wow, Renee - with 30 inches, I don't think you'll miss the 1.5 inches at all.

Hairlove, I hope I won't miss them! Thank you for the encouragement. I just looked at your April photos and your hair is gorgeous -- your thick ends are exactly what I want to regain with this trim.

Renee - I'm sure you'll enjoy the new thick ends so much that your hair will have grown back by the time you remember you cut 1.5 inches!

Thanks for the compliment.
