I think I overdid the Duo Tex. My hair is all over the place.
AAAH. What do I do? How long is this gonna last?
Can I stop it somehow? I just got a trim and was feeling all healthy...

What ever shall I do? :perplexed

Did you deep condition after you did the protein treatment? If not, you need to get the most moisturizing conditioner and deep condition because you need a balance of protein and moisture. Protein overload can lead to breakage. Your hair should be back to normal after you deep condition.

Tell us what you did.

How did you apply it, after what?, how long did you leave it on, did you massage or comb through, did you use any heat or plastic bag.

Did you poo after or rinse.

More details, please. :)

To much protein is not good, I had 5-6" cut in Dec. 2004 because of to much protein. I agree with what the other ladies have said deep condition, try not to handle the hair as much until you get it under control. Deep condition and amla oil.

yes, i had some heat put on my hair (blow dry and flat iron) and thought it would be okay to do a 10 minute Duo Tex treatment. I clarified, then put on Duo Tex for 8-9 mins, and washed with Hello Hydration. Then, I threw in silk touch, amla, vatika, coconut, and castor oil and went to bed.
Woke up to hair all over the shower when I co-washed.
I havent detangled yet, but I just got in from the gym and am going to detangle now. I'm scared :(
I will deep condition for as long as I can.
Ahhhh. This sucks!

Duo Tex might be a little strong for you..

It made my hair hard too.. But wash with good Moisturizing poo and DC with like Motions Moisture Plus/Silk elements Moist Treatment

Next time Use it as a pre poo..

I used Aphogee Intensive Keratin mixed with Generic Joico K-Pak with a hot towel turban and a shower cap, then clarify (every wash cuz of cones), wash w/ CON and do a moist treatment..

you can also use CPR its a protien treatment, just not as harsh, DuoTex puts in work on your head

Update!

OK, I took you ladies' advice and did a super duper Deep Condition. I used Hello Hydration (premixed with a few drops of honey, EVOO, and Amla), honey, coconut oil, and amla oil. I caked it on my hair, threw on a shower cap and took a LONG shower. I wet a wash cloth with scorching hot water, placed it atop my head and made sure the water ran over my head for the majority of the shower. I think my shower was around 30 mins or so. (I just worked out, and wanted to be sure I was clean, hehe)

I took the cap off, rinsed, combed with a wide tooth comb, and noticed that not as many hairs came out. WHEW. I'm relieved. I'll do this for the next 2 days or so.

I kinda noticed my hair wasn't as soft as it usually is, but that was probably due to one of two things: 1.) all the oil i threw in my hair 2.) the cold water rinse.

thanks for coming to my rescue, girls. tomorrow, however, is the true test to see whether or not my hair is breaking again.

right now, i threw in the last of my bottle of Kid's Organics Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Lotion and NTM Silk Touch (thanks, gelati!) and of course, coconut oil. I threw it into a bun, it's still wet, but that's how it's gonna be, dammit.

My hair stresses me out. ;)

At least it's getting back to normal quick! Stuff like that can be kinda scary.
