I "think" I am ashamed...

:blush:I just went through my product collection and I have so much stuff and I can’t believe I purchased all of this within the span of only one year. I think I have tried everything for 4B hair and to be honest I still have not found my staple product line.
I started with Carol’s daughter and initially hated this line. I soon realized that I actually liked the Healthy Hair Butter, Loc Butter and Black Vanilla Leave-in.
After You Tube, I moved on to Oyin Handmade. I like this line. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s locally sold or I like the owners. I probably will always use Honey Hemp Conditioner….wait, a staple!
I then purchased the Miss Jessie’s sample kit. My hair devoured the Rapid Recovery Conditioner. I “think” my hair likes the Curly Buttercream and Curly Meringue. I’m just not sold on this line being the “Best Darn” cream/conditioner/styler, especially for the price. If there isn't a BOGO, I won’t repurchase.
Afroveda soon followed. I like Curl Define. The other butters, well, you know the story…. (Did I mentioned I hated the labels on this line)
Now, Karen’s Body Beautiful…I LOVE the scents…I was a little weary about purchasing this line because I did not want my hair to look like hers! I’m not feeling that undefined afro. However, I’m in love with her butters…concentrated and they smell wonderful. I open them regularly to sniff. I have White Tea and Chamomile Sage.
I thought I love Qhemet, but, the line is a bit one dimensional…moisture. I’ve yet to find a Qhemet styler that works on my hair. So this line is a TBD.
I subscribed to LCHF and was hipped to HairVeda. I think I like this line… However, I know I’m a bit shallow, the generic labels… BUT! Yes, But! This line is inexpensive and I think everything is above average…Yep, bases and all!
There are a few other purchases that get a “yes.” I like Komaza Califia and Mozeke Carrot Protein Conditioner and Babassau Twisting Cream. Darcy’s Botanicals glycerin-free cream is nice. Koils by Nature is new to me…but I like that Hair and Body Butter. Shescentit was just OK (but I only tried it once)
Now, don’t think this is all of the products. There are just the ones that I favor.
I did not care for Njoi, Indigofera, or Kinky Curly Curling custard.
Needless to say, one of my 2011 goals is find my staples. I cannot purchase a thing in 2011! Help me! Pray for me!

Wait... you haven't tried this other line you have to try it....... jk :) don't be ashamed, life is a journey, not a destination. With all the other successful 4b's after I see a picture of someone's hair I'm rushing out to buy something. I've been able to stop after last year the bottom fell out of my bathroom cabinet due to too many products, I had a reality check and had to throw out a bunch of stuff.

Girl.....Let's not Go There!

Cute Thread.

I'll be watching this one!

Oh Yeah....don't forget to try MyHoneyChild:look:

it takes a while to find staples so i understand. dont feel ashamed. after a while youll just love buying products even though youll have your staples lol.

You have quite a stash. Stop buying for a while and you'll probably find that you already own the right product(s) and you're overlooking it coz you try so many things - i.e. give things time to work. Or maybe you've been sleeping on something that you already own (at least this is how things work for me and not just pertaining to hair).

Also start a blog or a youtube channel or something - with your product knowledge you can help others out (there is a shortage of 4B gurus) and maybe develop a little side hustle for yourself.

Don't be ashamed.
You're curious and adventurous.
It's not your fault you have an inquisitive mind and a very hands on nature
:)
hehe

LOL! I'm no GURU...I am a JUNKIE. I have a YouTube account with only 2 videos. I should do a few reviews...but, I'd probably look at another YouTuber and purchase the next product. hmm, I think I'm easily sidetracked.

I think my PJ'ism is so bad that I went through my stash and found stuff that I could give to my sister (newly natural w/6 kids) for Christmas. I think she is getting the full Oyin line (all from my stash). Every naturalista needs to try Oyin, right?

I may have a few staples. Suave Humectant, Oyin Honey Hemp, Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair butter (smells a bit strong), (maybe that's why I keep trying other butters)

Did I mention I had Donna Marie, Jane Carter, and Bee Mine, Shea Moisture and Bear Fruit Hiar Conditioner (I like Bear Fruit Conditioners...it's better than the Kimmaytube leave-in)

Now pure junk is Pretty Dimples Shea Butter and Black Onyx's line...

my name is ______ and I have a problem.
I have three bathrooms full of products. DH has NO under the sink space!

I'm trying to sort them out though. Master bath closet has the main stash, bathroom #2 has things I like but not currently in rotation, I guess bathroom 3 closets have the things I NEED To give away or trade. I TRY not to get hung up on how much I spent in room #3.

The good thing is that once in a while I will go 'shopping' in my own house finding products to revisit.

@ IDareT'sHair - LOL!!! Girl, I've got too much stuff! I don't even know what works on my hair. I'm so ashamed...all this product and a little bit of hair.

LOL, I can feel your 'shame', because I am a pj too, I don't even know my hair type so I am buying things that may not even be for my hair. I think we should all post pictures of our product pile. I have 4 of those three drawer plastic storage bins filled with products, some I haven't even used yet. You are not alone and I am sure not the worst pj.

Wow. I don't feel so bad now. I have stuff that I want to just give a way. Too many to mention now, but based on memory, here is what I have:

ORS Carrot Oil (2)
Sulu Max Gro (2)
Eqyss Avocado Spray (for some reason, my hair loves this spray)
mega tek - I use it as a deep conditioner

a whole bunch of conditioners, and leave ins. the next dc meet up, i'm bringing this TUB and i'll just let the girls have at it!!!!

ooohhh, WHY YOU HAVE TO GO AND DO THAT???:spinning: now I want that eqyss Avocado Spray, you should post a list of products on the product exchange forum, I will buy the spray from you, and maybe some other stuff... have you guys ever gone to a store and just bought 1 item? I can't. I feel that I have to make the trip worthwhile, If I am using my card it can't be for like $10. I am sick.

I am on the floor at my job laughing at you ladies!!! I have a banker's box full of product and I just went shopping in it last weekend. My DH does not know about the "secret" stash that's in the garage behind his tool kit!! I don't know what type of hair I have either but I do enjoy buying product for it. Everytime I come on this board I read about something else and think, "Maybe this will be work good on my hair!" There has got to be a 12 step program somewhere for us PJs!!:lachen:

:lachen::lachen::lachen: secret stash!!! do you have to hide new purchases? I used to have to leave my purchases in the back yard, walk in the front door and retrieve it later. I just didn't want to hear it.
