I did a rollerset. I was expecting better results than I got.
My hair should be longer by now and it should not be so frizzy.
Thats it, we are not talking anymore.

Am I asking too much from my TWA?

I like it, I think its cute.

I roll my 3 inch fro on hard rollers everynight and pick it out in the morning and wear it in a puff like this. I don't wash it every night. I just finger comb Olive Oil hair lotion thru it, seal and put it on the rollers. Mine comes out less curly, but stretched out and fluffy.

Weren't you recently using too many protein products? I don't really notice any frizz, but maybe it won't be as frizzy once your hair gets used to your new regimen without as many protein products in it?

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but frizzy is what you get when you rollerset natural hair. The only way around it is heat. Been there and done that. It is quite frustrating. But, I agree, your hair looks great!

:look:
I think it looks good. If you think it's frizzing up you probably need to put a good leave-in on your hair before you set it. My rollersets used to frizz up too, then I found this forum and started putting leave-in conditioner such as Elucence MB or Cantu Shea, an oil such as Cocasta or Coconut, and a light spritz of Pantene R&N Wrap & Set Lotion on my hair and VOILA! Smooth, defined curls! :yay: You could also try a good serum if the added moisture isn't enough to keep your curls under control. HTH!

Girl, your hair is gorgeous! I love it! It looks beautiful to me :yep:

You better start talkin to your hair again!

Is your hair feeling better now? Did you try clarifying or chelating?

No! No! No! I am 100 percent natural. Ignore my avatar it's after five days of raining at the Ky Derby (I visited my parents after flat ironing my hair with sabino). You can destroy frizz. There's more than one way. When you wash, condition, dc, at the end put in some lacio lacio. I do this as a tiny bit lacio with lots of distilled water. how tiny. 1 part lacio to 10-12 parts water, in a spray bottle. When you wash out your dc, leave in some conditioner (not leave in) , pure conditioner that is moisturizing. Work it through. Then spray spray with lacio lacio as you roll. You want your ends to stay wet on the rollers. In fact you want your hair sopping wet, so make sure you start that way when you start rolling. Now as you roll, parts of your hair may get dry...just spray more lacio lacio on it to saturate hair, concentrating on the ends too. If you want a smoother roll at the roots, do a pony set. Check Pokahontas fotki for examples. It can be done even if your hair is shorter, just smaller ponies, more of them, and smaller rollers. So even if you just want to roll straight, just add the lacio lacio. for added bonus, I seal with coconut oil to seal in that lacio mositure, and for extra points you can put on moisture block to lock in the moisture until your next wash. There are threads here to tell you how to get a free sample. If you don't like the idea of that (as some people don't like cones), the lacio lacio should make your hair shine like silk for at least a few days, and that's worth it on its own! Hope that helps you.

Thank you ladies. I appreciate the compliments. I know I have gotten better results from roller setting my natural hair, but that was a long time ago, maybe my texture is just not what it used to be 8yrs ago.

Hey tiffer. Thanks, I will start the reconciliation process tomorrow:lachen:
My hair is feeling better. I can not say it feels moisturised, but it feel better than last week. I tried the Kiya Fizzle today. It was ok, but I think I will try it with baking soda and a different condish next time.

I agree with you. I have had frizzless roller sets when I was natural before.
I think the kind of rollers are making a difference too.
I will try using you method next time. I have Sabino MB so this won't be a problem.
Thanks.

Girl, I tried ALL of that, and nothing worked. Maybe it's just my crazy hair. I finally got so agravated I relaxed it. I think it's mental - you know how you get used to your hair when it's relaxed, and then when it's natural you expect it to do the same thing. It was ALL me! I don't think I gave it a chance. But I do know I spent a small fortune on products!

I think this will be me in the not so far future.

Well, hang in there as long as you can. I don't regret relaxing, I just wish I had given it a chance. But I knew early on that being natural was really not for me. I just used the problems as an excuse to relax because I hated my hair and everyone else loved it. It was just too much of a hassel trying to figure out what worked and what didn't. I miss it sometimes though!

Mandy me thinks you aint ever gonna be happy about your hair... your stressing too much.

I don't hate my hair, but sometimes I do feel like everyone else loves it more than I do myself....all my cyber friends that is. IRL no one really cares, but I know most people in my real life liked my relaxed hair better, My DH included.
In my album, I get lots of compliments on my natural hair, I never got that much when I was relaxed.:wallbash:

I am giving it 5 more months, which would bring me to a year of being nappy. If I am not head over heels in love with my napps by then, then I know I will never be.
girl its lovely

u better start talking to your hair again

before it gets you back for that!
Yeah, I better. Lawd knows it will dry up to a crisp if I don't.
Thanks Irresistible.

I think it's super cute!

BTW, where did you get the beaded headband? My headbands are so boring...:perplexed

Very cute. I love the headbands. Where did you get them? Wait did I ask you before and you said Hair Boutique?

Stop being so hard on your hair! lol. I think it turned out nicely.
Thank you. I think, I need to start working on stopping my complaints.

It looks fine to me.
Thanks girl.

Thanks girl. It is actually a neckless:yep: that I bought from a place called Claires. I am trying to be creative with my TWA

I don't know ...but it looks really healthy and thick!
Thank you. It is super duper thick:nono:, but health is important right?

Very cute. I love the headbands. Where did you get them? Wait did I ask you before and you said Hair Boutique?
Thank you.The beaded one is actually a neckless that I bought from Claires and the other one is a scarf that my mom brought for me from Zambia.

I think it looks good.. I might try that with my TWA since it's long enough to roll now!
Thanks, let me know how it goes when you do it. Which rollers are you gonna use? I am planning to try different rollers to see if the frizz can be eliminated, I think some of he frizz I have now is due to the rollers I used.

Come on let's be forreal. Thats not necessarily true. Some hair stypes are prone to frizz. Pokahontas is a type 3b/c. Mandy is a 4B. She is not going to get a sleek rollerset like a type 3. Maybe not even with heat. You have to work with your texture.
