I Need To Do Something New...Suggestions? (pics)

I've been wanting to do something new to my hair because I'm really bored with it. I couldn't wait to get my kinky weave, but now I can't wait to take it out. I considered getting highlights, but because of great advice I received in OT, I've decided against it. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=345273

Anyway, here are pics of my old lace front. It's not applied in the pics below. I just plopped it on the top of my head. The white stuff around the hairline is from glue residue that I need to clean. I stopped wearing it because I hated having to glue it on all the time, but I got a fab tip from ladies on this board to sew wig clips to the underside of the wig.

I just wanted to share pics of my lace front. Isn't it so fab and real looking. lol I'm really thinking of experimenting with color on it, and I'm going to get long layers cut in it too. I'd like to highlight it similar to Queen T, probably a little darker. What do you guys think? I'm afraid to get it done, and not like it. I found a company that will highlight for $30. Should I just stick with the color on the wig? Do you guys think it would look good with the color?

Thanks!! I'm really thinking to do it warm chocolate with some subtle auburn/blonde streaks. That sounds like fun.
