Thanks! Are they small? My hair isn't all that long and I think I'll need a samll one.
Hey!

You can use and old sock and make a donut yourself. Just cut a hold in the toe, roll it up and VOILA, a donut. You can make it as big or small as you want. I used and sweat sock for big donuts and dress sock for smaller ones.

hth!

I saw these in the BSS over the weekend and was wondering how you keep them from damaging your hair. Any advice and tips would be welcome.

I purchased one but I read where they can dry your hair out so I only used it once...I think I read also that someone wraps a silk scarf around it so the foam doesn't touch you hair.

I was going to suggest the old sock trick as well (see onepraying's post above).

Its free... you can adjust how thick the donut is... you probably still want to cover it though. I used panyhose... but have read others cover it with a weft of weave... so if some of it gets exposed while you wear it... it looks like your hair...instead of a filler.

I tried using the foam to make a bun, but I never could master the bun, can anyone give me step by step instructions.

check out DontSpeakDefeat's album. She has a step by step instruction. I was just looking at it myself

If you decide to bun your hair, please post a pic in your album. I would love to see how it looks.

Beyond Cute, SistaSlick & VWVixxen also have good instructions on donut buns, Dee also sells satin covered buns. HTH

ETA: I made mine out of a sweat sock, covered w/ a satin trouser sock.
