Are there any ladies in here with type 4 long hair>
Apl or above?
Everyone that i see in here with long hair hass type 3 hair

I have noticed once type 4 hair becomes long, it automatically gets labeled type 3. There are many self-described type 4's with long hair on here.

That's what I used to think, but there are type 4 women w/longer hair on here. If you're talking about 4b, there's also some sprinkled in.

I am APL type 4 :)

thanks for the help and the lnkks/ i havent been a part of LHCF for long so im dont know.
i have been lokking through the dif pages of topics but it makes my head hurt lol so hard to find things lol

The pics here below are of me and that last one was Feb 2011. No updates because of constant protective styling to get to my next goal. Pics to come mid to late summer but its longer for sure. I'm not sure why you're unable to find 4s w length because they're everywhere. As for me I am 4a and thought only that until now. However I suspect this chunk in the middle upper back of the head to be 4b. I always thought it was denser there (more hair per area)...and it is lol...but now that it's really long I can pull it around to look at it as I do occasionally to inspect it after wash day...and I'm like...how in the world did I not know this already? I want to take a good look while wet and dry before making my final opinion...but I'm thinking its 4b so that would make me a mix of that and 4a. otherwise I'm 4a

There is a search button at the top of the page. You can do an advanced search and get more specific results. I'm type 4 btw.

This is so true. I'm starting to think the belief that type 4 hair can't be long gets so deep that people start doubting when people tell them about their hair is type 4. We gotta remember that natural hair is so versatile and a twist out on 4a hair should not be assumed to be type 3.

Checking in (may have seen pics already)

Type 4 MBL...kinky, coily, coarse, dry, dense, nappy  :spinning:
