Bumping thread cause I need to know too. Seems like when I go to the BSS they "say" silk, but they are not really "silk.":nono:

I usually just go to the fabric department at Walmart or a fabric store, buy some fabric, and make my own. It's much cheaper and you have a bigger selection.

Ooh that sounds like a plan. I'm always in Walmart anyway. I need to check the fabric department out the next time I'm in there. Thanks for the idea! :p

Make me one and I'll buy it from you. Sounds too much like a crafts project and you know I don't like doing those:grin: I'll get it from you the next time we meet for lunch.

Tenderheaded.com is where I usually get mine. I've tried local fabric stores here and no one has silk except the really heavy stuff for making curtains!

Okay girl...don't be mad when it looks all lopsided and is falling off your head at night!:lachen:

Is silk better than satin to use at night?

I wanna this too.

Both keep the hair moisturized and I use both. Silk is a natural product though and seems to last longer as a fabric than my satin scarves. Silk also seems to slip off my head more easily so I have to make sure it's secured. I get mine also from www.tenderheaded.com including the oversized silk bonnets.

try some of the hijab websites.

I know that they are supposed to be used for outerwear, but they are nice, large squares and come in a variety of colors and they sell cotton as well as silk. I posted a link to a website in December.

SAme here...go to fabric store..get you about a yard and a half (2 yards if your dome is as big as mine...WITH a hook!)...then you can make sure that the tail covers all of your hair..
