I need a leave in product recommendation

Hi Ladies,

I am desperate and need a leave in product recommendation. My regular leave in is Sally's Silk Elements Leave in Hair Moisturizing Creme. All of the sally's that I have been to, and I've been to 3 separate ones in about a 3 mile radius in the past MONTH are not carrying this leave-in, it is all sold out. They are also not getting it in their Tuesday's shipment. I had the woman special order me a whole case LOL! But she said it won't be here for two weeks, and on Thursday when she did the store order she would let me know if they still were carrying it, etc. She did not think it was discontinued.

I NEED HELP. THIS IS THE ONLY LEAVE IN that I have been able to use that does not make my hair itch like crazy! I have a very sensitive scalp.

I've tried Hawaiian Silky, I loved the way it made my hair feel, but scalp, ITCH CITY...

I've tried the Fantasia ITC pro, again, Itch city, I just gave it to my mom.

Please ladies, anyone with a sensitive scalp like mine, who maybe also uses that silk elements creme, give me a recommendation of a similar product that I might be able to use, light on the ingredients side...not too many ingredients, light on the colors, like Yellow 6, etc...that type of stuff makes my hair itch I have learned on my haircare journey.

HELP :) PLEASE :)

Giovanni Direct Leave-In.......Fabulous

Diddo. I think with your sensitive scalp you cant go wrong with this product. It's all natural... so your scalp should be fine.

FYI. My hair also loves Keracare Leave in and Silk Elements (as well), so the chemical make-up ( I think) has a good chance of being compatible with you.

Hi there,

By chance, have you tried the Herbal Essences long term relationship leave in? If not, it may work for you.
hths,

omg...i have been having the same problem finding silk elements leave-in hair cream...it is the total truth!!! all of the sally's i have been here have not been having it in stock and i am about to go crazy...i bought the hawaiian silky moisturizing oil, and my hair is pretty and shiny but not moisturized like it is with the silk elements...may try the keracare if i can't find it again...

Diva,

Sally's Online (sallybeauty.com) is out of it. Amazon does not have it. I haven't tried Ebay yet! I am DESPERATE. I've been looking at recommendations for the Giovanni & I also found something Karen's Hair Milk that I may like to try. I also read good things about the Herbal Essences Long Term relationship that morehairplease suggested!

shunemite, I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM SO DESPERATE. I pray that my order will come in in two weeks (the special order). In the meantime, I need some product, the little bit I have in my jar is not going to last me, or even let me do my hair in an air dried style (not at this length). I am not blowfrying my hair again for probably 3 months.....If I set, I use the SE leave in as well. I go through a jar in about two months. I normally buy 4 at a time....and am scraping the bottom of my last jar.

I am so desperate, I know I need to wash my hair...I will probably try putting cocoa butter lotion on my hair. I hope it doesn't funk my hair up too much until the weekend where I can go and try to get one of these other leave ins.

Wow! That's crazy! Sorry you can't find your staple. :( I won't be of much help. I leave a small amount of full-strength con in my transitioning hair at all times. I use a little Motions Leave-in spray from time to time, but my hair LOVES con, so full-strength works for me. Maybe if you don't have any luck on a leave-in, you could create your own concoction using a spray bottle and diluted full-strength con. Good luck, mama!

I use Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner.
It doesn't have a lot of ingredients and, I don't think it has any additive colors in it.

It's a spray though..

Thank you ladies!! I appreciate these recommendations. I have emailed them all to myself. I am probably going to try to find all of these products online today. Hopefully they come by the weekend.

HHAHHHHHAHHA...I wish I'd gotten some of these earlier.

I ordered the giovanni leave in direct, the Herbal Essences Long Term relationship & the Karen's Hair and Body Milk that I found. It should all be here at the top of next week.

LAST NIGHT I HAD TO USE COCOA BUTTER LOTION as a leave in. This morning my hair feels soft, but because it was so waxy and my hair is on the fine side, I disliked the slippage it gave me as I tried to comb through my hair. It seemed to promote some tangles.

BUTTTT I was able to detangle and my hair feels soft, smells good AND DOES NOT ITCH. But due to the slippage issue, and I am concerned with long term, the effects this would have on my hair (because it is sort of coating)....this cannot be a permanent solution.

I will be clarifying as well before I try these new products. Hopefully I only have to use the cocoa butter special one more time LOL!

You ladies are amazing and I love you all. Thanks for the advice. I will let ya'll know how it turns out!

Well the Giovanni Direct Leave in should be here soon. I will let everyone know how I liked this product, and the others that were suggested, Herbal Essences Long term relationship & the Hair Milk that I found as a recommendation as well.

Wish me luck :)

I AM BUMPING THIS. Sally's here is out of the shipment of the product. It's stuck in the warehouse, but they claim it has not been discontinued, so we'll see! SMH! In the meantime, I thank all of you for the tips.

I like the giovanni leave-in. I was a bit heavy handed I will admit, which made it greasy. A little goes a long way. I also liked the KBB hair milk. In fact I can't wait to wash my hair and use that as a leave in, even though it will mean that I'm destroying my pretty rollerset for my low-mani bun :)

Thanks for the recommendations ladies.

MOREHAIRPLEASE.....I have finally tried the Herbal Essences Long Term relationship (it was in my product goodies bag but I did not have a chance to try it! I washed and conditioned my hair and went ahead and styled with it. IT WORKED SOOO WELL! PERFECTLY! Did not itch and gave my hair both moisture and strength.

I will be trying it a few more times but it might become a holy grail staple for me! I learn so much on the board from you ladies, so thank you all!
