Today I was on facebook looking at pics of me from last year.
I miss my natural hair.
I textaxed it May 2010, for ease and especially because I was searching for a job. And even in NYC a white employer will reject you if they don't like your hair.

At the time I thought I was damaging my hair while detangling, and that I was not gaining any length.
I wish I held on, but now I am going to just do a long term transition after June 2011. By then I should be a least shoulder length and able to bun for professionalism. I have been following Ninapruitt ‎on youtube and she has inspired me.

I did not try S Curl and Coconut Oil until months after I texlaxed. But I plan on using these staples to help me stay the natural course.

Just wanted to get that out.
Thank you for reading.

Good luck on your transitioning journey....now you're armed with more information so you should reach your goal!!!!

I agree with @sunnysmyler. I am in the military/own my own business and I understand the need to be professional at all times and during every event. There is a way to do that with natural hair and still be fab and polished. Funny thing is, I was natural for 3yrs. Relaxed after boot camp with the Army and my hair just was not the same. It TRULY loves to remain in its most natural form. One time, I bought over 100 dollars in Mizani products(dont use them any longer, but still love their product line for relaxed ladies) and my hair still would revert directly after a relaxer. My hair and I have an understanding now  and it does not involve being chemically straightened LOL my hair is my baby, pride and joy and my glory. I nourish it everyday :) Long story short, I understand how you came to this realization:yep:
