Is there an explanation for varying bulb sizes. My shed hair has bulb sizes that vary. It's weird! Is the explanation something scientific? Do you all experience this, too? Is it an indication of hair health or follicle health?

hm.. good one. back when i was natural i had big fat bulbs and the more care i took of my hair (inside and out both) the fatter it would get. then i started relaxin and it takes a few weeks post for the bulb to fatten up. its so small now. so in my case, i'm guessin the chemicals are messin me up.

I've never payed attention to how large my bulbs are, but I do know, the larger the bulb, the thicker the hair (supposedly)

I also heard that bulbs mean healthy hair but couldnt it also mean theres clogging?

First I put on my negligee, then... I glide over to the toaster and toast my bread. I mix my peanut butter and jam together...................

I saw a white fleck in my hair today and pulled it out. It was attached to a hair. The bulb was HUGE. I was wondering how it got so big...

I just need an answer to the question.

PS....I don't use a toaster. :nono2:

I wait until I get fresh out the shower, omit the towel, stand in front of SO and shimmy... My bulbs arent getting any bigger.... but his....

I'm serious! I know this question seems odd, but I've always wondered. I'm always trying to make my hair healthier.

Don't quote me on it, but I think the size of the hair bulb is correlated to the development stage that the hair follicle is in.

"Younger hair"= smaller bulb
"Older hair" = bigger bulb

ETA: I noticed that using MT resulted in increased shedding. The hair that shed all had very small bulbs, whereas a couple weeks before using MT the majority of my shed hair had bigger bulbs.

Have you been using any growth aids as of lately?

 I think you maybe right. I haven't been taking many growth aids lately. I think I'm just going to have to get used to all of this shedding. Thank you for responding!
