i dont think i can manage any longer :spinning:

is it better to do it on wet hair or dry hair.
or should i wash my hair then cut it all?

oh yeah, can anyone recommend any products to use once i do the b.c [shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, oil. etc.]

I did mine on dry hair; I never cut my hair when it is wet. I washed and conditioned afterwards.
Good Luck to you!!!!

I didn't do my BC myself, my stylist did. She did it on damp/wet hair. She's a nappy head herself, so I trusted her. :yep:

ETA: I forgot about products! I would recommend any cheapie condish; I use and love V05 Strawberries & Cream to co-wash with. My hair LOVES oils, so I use Coconut & Jojoba oil (light), and Castor and Olive Oil (heavy) to seal. I also double up, and use them to DC sometimes. I don't shampoo often, (usually just clarify w/ baking soda & water) but I like Eluence Moisturizing Benefits when I do.

I also use a wide-toothed bone comb to detangle with 1st, then follow with a Denman for shed hairs.

That's what my stylist did.

If you are planning to wear your hair curly then cutting when it's mostly dry (if your hair is curly from a previous wetting) will allow you to see the relaxed ends and better make sure that shrinkage isn't going to make your hair lopsided when dry.

Good luck!

Also, as far as products go, I'd recommend Garnier Fructis curl and shine shampoo, Dove intense moisture conditioner, Garnier Fructis curl and shine leave-in and jojoba oil to seal.

It depends. I could see the difference in textures better when it was wet and I did my BC myself. If it's easier dry, then by all means do that.

I've got 120+ reviews for you to glance through if you want product ideas from drugstore to salon.

I didn't do mine myself either, I went to a natural hair salon and they cut it while it was wet. I'm new to this so I can't recommend any products but LGL has a lot of product reviews in her fotki that have helped me a lot. Good luck on your BC and let us know how it goes!

I cut my hair with conditioner in it. The conditioner defined the curls and made the relaxed hair look straighter so I can see the line of demarcation better. Good Luck!

i did mine on DAMP hair, then went back and cleaned it up after it was dry (snipping leftover relaxed ends, scab hair, and just generally evening it out). if you want to cut on dry hair you can always wet it, let it dry, then cut. that way i'm sure your new growth will shrink up and you can feel the texture difference, but still be able to cut on dry hair

i am a big fan of V05 conditioners and i co-wash with them religiously. :yep:

I did mine on wet hair. It was easier to see the line of demarcation. Use new scissors. Good luck!
