Is there something that you knew you shouldnt have done to your hair:nono:, did it anyways and the results were good or bad?

Here's mine, I knew I shouldnt have taken my braids out and relaxed my hair the same day, but I did it anyways and my scalp was on fiyah !!!

Please share....

Get a relaxer, blow dry on high, then flat iron on high setting. Always gives me light/bouncy hair, but is bad for my hair in the long run.

Well maybe we are all past the I know what I shouldnt have done but did anyways stage....

I have another one....a mess.....:perplexed

I know I should not have been trying to find a miracle skin creme...but I did it anyways...that dang BIOTIN is the debil....I mixed up sulfur, tea tree and some clay mask .....went to bed, scratched my face so bad in my sleep that I woke up with a freakin rash :wallbash:...the next morning my D 15 year old D....exclaims....ma, now you know that you should test stuff on your arm to see how you skin is going to react all the while laughing :lachen:......

Dying my hair blonde!!! And then repeatedly using heat!! And then "trimming" (read: hacking) my hair off every two weeks after that...

I know I shouldn't have but 5 years ago I used to hot curl my hair everyday .....I was so out of control I used to have a hot curler in my purse that didn't need or use electricity ..:nono:

I don't know how I had any hair on my head :lachen::lachen:

I knew I shouldn't have texturized, but I did it anyway... and the results aren't bad. My hair is still on my head and the blowdrying and straightening time has been cut by like a fourth of the time. Its still thick as hell, still has its texture, and still looks a HAM when I airdry, so all is in tact.

I straightened it today and it came out shinier than I remembered. I like it this way now that I think of it. I am considering waiting another 6-12 months and doing it again. My hair grew in softer and with no breakage and I wouldn't mind if I kept doing this forever. But I am going to try to transition to natural again. I knew I shouldn't have.. I wish Id stuck it out but too late, oh well. Better luck next time, maybe Ill be natural this time next year. :yep:

I've taken a sew in out, scratched my scalp with a bone comb, and got a relaxer. I felt like my hair was in hell!!!!!!! lol, never again. I've also gotten permanent color and got a relaxer a few days later, but thankfully, it had no bad effect on my hair.

Last year, I went to a board recommended stylist for a relaxer and within three months, I had a TWA because she failed to rinse all of the relaxer out.:ohwell:

Now I am natural and slowly growing my hair back. I was a hint from APL at the time.

I know I should not have been in a rush for my hair to dry and subsequently put a curling iron on a damp section of hair :wallbash: My hair sizzled and took about 1 day to break off completely and leave a bald spot. It's grown back now since I've gone natural. But I may never go near heat again. :nono:

i know i shouldn't have relaxed my hair bone straight and then two weeks later get bleach all over my head only to turn around and re-bleach every other month.

Trim my hair yesterday. Because if i wouldn't have trimmed it i wouldn't have gotten the idea of going natural and cut off all any hair. I shouldn't have done that because i have a 1 cm twa me kinky 4b hair that i don't know anything about being natual lol but ill learn

I did the exact same thing! I was transitioning and not planning on cutting anytime soon. One night, at 4am, I just went into the bathroom and started snipping away......

Welcome to the TWA club!!

I didn't fully detangle my hair before relaxing just now:wallbash:. I mean, I combed through it the other day after removing a weave, but not enough. When I finally went to detangle, there was alot of hair on the comb...even a left over piece of thread:lachen:

As we live and learn! This board helps keep us from continuing to make the same I know I shouldnt have but did anyways..... Thanks ladies, I laughed at some of ya'll....but please belive I am just able to laugh at myself as this dang rash peels........a mess!!!

I know I shouldn't have gone to the domincan salon when I couldn't reach my stylist. The shampoo girl didn't speak english, washed my hair rough four times and pulled out sections of hair trying to detangle the matted mess she made. Then to end the dramatic experience she soaked me with water because she couldn't control the nozzle.

Luckily my stylist gave me a cut, and custom treatment to help deal with their damage.

This thread is hillarious.

So to me....where do I start?

I know I shouldn't have co-washed my hair everyday this last week without detangling...at least finger detangling. Though my strands are only between 14-15 inches tons of the all shedded up and tangled in my hair is a recipe for disaster. I am a very heavy shedder so this is a big no no. After detangling for 3 hours you would think I would have learned my lesson but I never do. I am hoping getting my texture just right will help some of those strands slide out with the force of the water stream.

It has gotten better after texlaxing but even there is a story. I know I shouldn't have loaded my hair down with protien conditioner and put 4 tbsp of oil in my mild Lye relaxer but I did it anyway and guess what my hair did not get looser. So what did I do. I did again 2 weeks later. No biggie my hair is fine. Still not where I want it to be but maybe by the summer I will have the texture I want.

I know i shouldn't have started trying to do a straw set... I wanted something different and i wonder if this will turn out right.....

I should'nt have continuosly bleached/dye/fry and hack my hair every month from 2005-2007!!

I finally gave it a rest beginning in November 2007 and now I'm reaping the benefits of healthy hair. Needless to say, I won't be coloring my hair, nor cutting it, anytime soon...

I shouldn't have got highlights a couple of years ago! They were so cute! But after a couple of months my hair was so dry...I just had to grow it all off my head.

NEVER AGAIN!

Detangle my hiar with the conditioner in it. raking the comb through my hair without looking at the comd and when I did I saw a fist full of hair. The result lost 2 inches of growth NEVER Again:wallbash:!!!!!!!!
